I worked through *************** **************************************************. The address on the contract is *************************************************Contract date 4/26/24 Sales **** **** ***** VP: ******* **** Amount: $39,851.00 made in 3 payments 4/26/24 $13,948 at signing 8/30/24 $12,600 paid after work began 9/21/24 $ ***** paid before completion because they begged me for it.$6303 balance due The business is providing a complete bathroom remodel, along with repair of kitchen ceiling and an intermittent water leak from the bathroom fan. ****, sales said we would be 100% happy upon completion.Start date: early July, 2024 2/5/25 I received an email requesting last payment. The work is not complete - poor workmanship, painting, and a very sharp edge need correction. This was promised and will not take much effort to complete. Throughout the process, I have begged someone from the company to come on site and take a look at the quality of work. They have refused - they leave it up to the lead of the 2 man crew to decide everything. **** who came out first, did very poor work. ***** came out, verified the poor workmanship, and completed some of the work. They have my list, they have pictures. I am going to take a set of very clear pictures to pass out if needed. As it is, I am guessing I will have to fix some of their work myself. I was hoping they would complete it since I spent $40,000 for a bathroom and had to put up with no communication on their part for these many months. The company does not communicate to anyone including their crews. The crews show up on site with no paperwork, and ask basic questions. Wrong shipments were received, tile was mismeasured - they had to order tile 4 separate times resulting in delays.I will take very detailed pictures and upload those later if given the opportunity.Business Response

HomeWerks (**) did perform a bath remodel for this client located in ********, *******; Below is a recap of events:
- The client signed a contract agreement with ** (on 4/26/24)which outlined what work would be completed along with his approval of material selections (see attached contract agreement)
- The project was completed on 10/5/24 and the client signed a completion form with an attached punch list of items that needed to be addressed.
- The client was still not happy with the work so our VP was scheduled to go out to the client house on 9/23/24 to review the work. The client called to cancel the appointment because members of the family were ill. The client then came into the ** showroom where the client provided pictures of the areas he was not satisfied with. Our VP agreed that HomeWerks needed to correct the craftsmanship in specific areas of the remodel. At the end of the meeting, the client proceeded to provide ** with a progressive payment for the work that had been completed thus far.
- ** assigned a new "seasoned and experienced" contractor on 11/11/24 to complete the areas of concern from the punch list.
1. ** completed the following work repairs (see attached signed completion form and punch list):
a. ** removed the entire tub deck tile and balanced the floor surrounding the tub deck. Re-tiled the tub deck area. ** re-ordered the tile on 11/26. There was a delay on obtaining the tile needed to complete this. ** finally recvd the additional tile to repair the tub deck at the beginning of the year
b. The client said that his project included a quartz shower bench. The contract agreement which was signed by the client did not note that. ** provided him with a quartz shower bench at no charge. We were not able to get the same quartz material as the vanity. However, we did get something VERY similar. ** installed the shower bench on 1/23/25
c. The client said that his project included bi-fold doors. The contract agreement which was signed by the client did not note that bi-fold doors would be included
d. The client was unsatisfied with the mirrors and tub which were selected by him prior to signing the agreement.
e. The client was unsatisfied with the paint job. ** repainted the entire bathroom
- The work that needed to be done to meet quality standards was completed on 2/5/25.
- ** contacted the client and he had an issue with the vent fan and paint
- To ensure everyone was on the same page, ** sent the client an e-mail of his concerns (see ******** job e-mail trail) on2/5/25) .The vent issue was not related to the work that ** completed, the shower bench was installed. The client still had issues with the paint which he discussed with the contractor. ** was not aware of the paint issue and asked the client to respond
- The last e-mail was sent to the client to summarize what was completed and to review the final payment needed.
- The client did not reply to my inquiry on 2/6/25 with a response of " I am speaking with a lawyer on next steps" Since the client retained legal counsel; ** ended communication waiting communication from his legal team.
**s would like to resolve this, however, the client did not provide us with the opportunity to do so.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:I have begged someone from this company to come on site many, many times to see the quality of the workmanship that their sub-contractors are providing. They refused. The first sub-contractor installed everything crooked / another sub came on site and began to complete work, but did not show up anymore and Home Werks demanded payment. They had to order tile 4 times because of mis-measuring and sloppy construction. That is when I contacted BBB. Much of what they have responded to is an outright LIE. I will now have to complete their work. I have agreed to pay half of the final payment to them, which has been done. I just need them out of my life so that I can move on.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,

We met with HomeWerks/Bath Center on January 8, 2024 to give a quote on remodeling the Bathrooms. On January 18, documents were signed and financing was approved for this work. Initially the Electrician was to meet me on January 23 to evaluated the electrical work. He was a no show. Electric work was suppose to begin January 31, 2024. Electrician didn't start the work and tried to more than double the price *from $8,376 to $20,000). Told on February 1, that we needed to get another company to do the electric.Fast forward us continuing to ask when the work will start as they knew from the beginning the bathrooms needed to be done by the time the kids moved in March 2, 2024. Was told the third week in February that they were starting 2/26/2024. As of today both bathrooms are still incomplete. The numerous installation of wrong items, or them installing whatever items they wanted and were cheaper than what was picked delayed work being done. The ** *********************** come out Wednesday Mach 20 and promised to make everything right, was supposed to detail deductions for using lower priced parts than what was picked and email that information, and get the rest of the upstairs bathroom complete. Since that day, no one has been to the house to do any work. When we emailed that she hadn't met the promises she made, she responded with not coming back to complete work until after April 1, 2024. This is unacceptable. We emailed her and once again she dodged addressing any of the issues. I tried to email the owner but was blocked. We are looking to get the bathrooms completed immediately with the correct items and compensation on time and money lost along with home being being trashed with dust from the construction since they didn't meet their deadline and we had to move items into the home for them to live. Details of dates and issues are in the word document along with attachment of emails sent to ******************* and then the ** ***********************.Customer Answer

When we issued initial complaints to the specialist who worked with us, we were contacted by *************************, the ** for HomeWerks/BathCenter/Ladders. All communication vial the emails and text have been to her and she is the management for the Project Manager and the workers. She also was notified of the complaint because she sent the second attached email to us as well. ************************* is located in the ********** *************** location. I Believe this ** is trying to say that this company isn't involved in the issue, but they are very much involved in the issue. I hope the documentation is enough to continue forward.

I am rejecting this response because: The work has not been completed and there hasn't been a walk through for final approval. We were asked by the business to go through each bathroom and text a list of the items that they still needed to be completed by Thursday, April 4, 2024. Wednesday April 3, we sent a text to **** and ************************* of all the items that still need completing (see list below). We were told **** and ***** would come out Friday, April 5, and complete both bathrooms. Then there was going to be a walk through with **** and us to signoff on completion. They did not complete the Main Floor Bathroom (Window still not installed and defective toilet seat needs replacing). The walk through was canceled and we have been waiting an entire week to hear when they will complete. Meantime they have told the finance company that they are done and they gave that as a response to this complaint, when they know they haven't finished the job, nor have they notified us of when they will come to complete so that we can do a walk through for final approval. It is exhausting at this point that 7 weeks and we still aren't done and they continue to be untruthful about this situation. **** also spoke with the finance company today and they are now aware per the email and verbal conversation from **** that HomeWerks/Bath Center has not completed the work and has not notified us as to when they will complete the work. ******************* will check back with **** next Friday, April 19, 2024.As for these refund checks, we have seen anything and since they haven't finished the job, how would they be issuing a refund of anything? I have attached additional supporting documents including the email to the finance company and screen shot of text(s) to the business. I was hoping that they would be focused on doing the right thing, but it seems the only goal here is to drag this process out get paid even though they haven't completed the work.

I am rejecting this response because:On March 09, 2023, HomeWerks started our kitchen remodel. As of April 14, 2023, the remodel is near complete. The kitchen cabinet that includes the built-in microwave opening is incorrect. Although we provided HomeWerks the Microwaves manufacturer name and model number in May 2022, the opening in the cabinet is too small to insert the microwave. The manufacturer opening in the cabinet is finished to match the other cabinets. The HomeWerks representative stated that after we receive the microwave, they will determine if they can enlarge the opening by cutting the manufactured opening, thus leaving an unfinished rough cut, and replacing the upper doors on the cabinet to accommodate the larger opening. I would like a new cabinet with a manufactured opening that accommodates the microwave. A draw is the wrong size and is being reordered by HomeWerks. We wish that HomeWerks had refunded our deposit when we requested it before the start of the remodel on March 06, 2023.
Sincerely,
