      I am rejecting this response because:  I would just like to keep this open until I get the papers from them showing the numbers that it was applied to principal and make sure the next payment I make with a debit card will actually apply the payment correctly and not reduce the amount owed on my next statement.

      On 9/13/24 we spoke with the member and provided clarity on how interest accrues and payments are applied. We explained to the member that the amount paid over current accrued interest was applied to principal and can be viewed on the members statement. We also provided instruction around how principal payments can be made in order for the member to easily see these applied as intended on her monthly statement, and offered to walk the member through the set up process using our digital banking option.The member was also informed that a savings account is a requirement for membership which was requested at the time of membership application.

      Once your next payment is applied, you will be able to view the full breakdown of the principal and interest through your Digital Banking login. Your monthly statement will also reflect the same information.

      I haven't received anything to show the breakdown of numbers from dupage credit union showing me that my last extra payment went towards principal and I'm waiting to see how my next payment is applied before I'm satisfied.
