    Closed my account in January of 2025. When I moved to my new apartment is when the bills from Illinois Energy started coming in when they said they do not service my new area. Now I have 2 gas bills from Illinois Energy and my new provider. I called and they said there is nothing they can do. Now the bills keep coming in and they are taking me to collections. I never authorized Illinois Energy in my new apartment and they said it happens automatically when i moved. Very unfair business practices.

    We canceled our service from this company in 2023 and then on our December 2024 bill, it is there again! we tried calling, but they do not pick up their phones. We send a letter via certified mail to the POBox listed in the letter that we received from them, which also happens to be the address listed on the BBB website, and the tracking said that it was forwarded to another address because the one that we used was incorrect.Does BBB see all the bad reviews of this company? How do they get a AAA rating!

    Illinois Energy was never authorized to provide services at my address. They have been double billing me, along with ***** at an outrageous amount of inflation. I have called them several times, and every time I call their story changes. They claim since I used them at my old address they had the right to continue at my new address. I have received HUGE bills from them, and have called and canceled and told them they were never authorized. They told me to send them bills of how I was being double billed, and I did, and they won't even acknowledge them. After I canceled with them, they continued to bill and charge me, and told me they have every right to keep billing me. I talked to 2 different supervisors, they are refusing to refund me, and refusing to look at the emails and my bills showing how they are double charging me along with *****.

    We attempted to reach the customer multiple times between 1/30/23 and 2/2/23 via phone and email. To date, our company has yet to receive a return call or email reply from the customer. We would be happy to discuss the customers' concerns if they return our calls.

    I am rejecting this response because: *********** refuses to acknowledge that they are double billing me. I have called and several people are refusing to help. They were not authorized to provide me service at my new address. They claim that when we move they just continue services and that is NOT ok. I do not want their services and I will not be paying for services that I never authorized. It is fraudulent and sneaky to hide in the "terms and conditions" (where no one ever looks) that they will just continue services without authorizations. They are charging an outrageous amount for natural gas compared to *****, double billing me, and refusing to acknowledge my concerns. I made sure to cancel with them, after I realized I was being double billed in December, and they are still charging me.

    We spoke with the customer and confirmed that she was not being double billed by ***** and Illinois Energy. She received a delivery gas charge from Nicor and a supplier gas charge from Illinois Energy. We consider this matter closed.
