    I was given this gift card after being in a traumatic car accident in 2023. Due to the fact that I was in the accident I never used the card and put it away for a later time. I recently found the card and called the number to double check the balance, to my surprise the card said it had $0 balance which I knew wasn't correct since I never used it. I was able to get someone on the phone and was told my balance was depleted to a $0 balance for inactivity which is crazy because the gift card has an expiration date of 8/2029. The representative was very rude after I asked her to make sense of my balance being $0, she just kept saying it was depleted due to inactivity. Even with there being no activity the card hasn't expired so I should still be able to use the gift card. The person that gave me this card basically gave away free money. I would not recommend anyone to purchase this card.

    Worst experience with a card in my life. They lock my card daily due to suspected fraud even though I put a travel notification on the card. Their customer service **** have no inter communications and don't have a clue how to help you outside of telling you your balance. As of me writing this my card has been locked 3 times in my 2 week vacation due to suspected fraud and have asked my bank to verify purchases from nearly a month ago. I truly hope this business fails so no one else has to suffer this stress.

    HORRIBLE **************** and the Gift Card is No Gift But a Donation to CUMONEY.I received a CUMONEY Gift Card at an Annual Meeting as a Door Prize. Held onto it until I wanted to buy myself a treat. I called the number on the back that literally reads:" For customer service, Card balance, or if Card is lost or stolen, visit www.cumoney.com/gift or call 1-833-###-2843."The representative was RUDE and insisted that I provide the original balance of the Gift Card in order to be informed of the balance on the card. Yes, you heard me right, to get the balance of a gift card, I have to call the credit union to track down someone who remembers the amount of the gift before the customer service department will tell me the balance. Then they laughed at the inconveniencethis would cause me. When I asked if I coud speak to a manager I was put on hold and forgotten. When I called customer service back the next representative hung up on me! Advising me that this is how they validate the card and there is nothing I can do about it. I am deeply disappointed in the lack of assistance these so called professional customer service representatives displayed and outraged that any financial services that steal unused balances on gift cards blatantly makes it difficult to use the balance. There is something not right going on here. Do NOT buy Gift Cards from this organization as they will fee the unused balance until it belongs to them and then makes is difficult to use the balance so that they can take it for it's intended recipient and put it into their greedy coffers. What a con job. Will anyone do anything to stand up to this ****************

    Why in heavens name did my credit union offer this card?? I am unable to activate it and now I am terrified I will never get my money back. If only I had checked their rating, instead of trusting the credit union I have used for many years. CUMoney is clearly a scam and why is it allowed to operate? Shouldn't the attorney general in its home state go after them??? I have been ROBBED.

    Same experience as those who submitted a review. They closed the card even though funds are active through September 2025.Would not provide any information over the phone or make the card active. Worst customer service ever experienced. Now taking legal action against them and my credit union.

    I would give them 0 stars if I could. I called to check the balance on the card since the automated message said it was closed and they told me for security purposes they cant give me that information unless I can give them the exact starting balance. This was a gift given to me a while back, its not something easily remembered. Regardless, what is the security for exactly? Its a prepaid debit and I'm inquiring on what's left (cause hello, I don't remember what's on it!!) So I ask for the manager and after having me on hold, I get a woman who says the exact same thing as the last. So I ask her, in general, what would cause your company to close a card? She tells me its the terms and conditions so I asked her to explain them to me and after a long pause she repeats its the terms and conditions on the card so I ask again for her to explain them - if she's the manager, this is knowledge she should be very equipped with. So after another long pause, she tells me that after inactivity, the card gets charged $5 every month until there is a $0 balance and then the card gets closed. So I say, so then that's why my card is closed, $0 balance, correct? Dead silence. They stayed on the line without saying a single word for a few minutes while I asked someone to answer me multiple times until I hung up. *******, you gave away the secrets, but your customer service skills are at a 0. 10/10 wouldn't ever purchase a card from this company.

    Scammers and should be classified as criminals- so they get the amount for the gift card more or less than charge you money for the entire gift card if you simply forget or have a life inconvenience. So the person who bought the gift card really gave the company the gift not the actual person who may really need it at some point. Got it. Hope this company enjoys all the gifts they have taken from others!

    This is a racket! My daughter received a gift card as a graduation gift. She was unable to activate the card. She eventually asked me for help. When I called, the representative wouldn't help me because we didn't have the name of the buyer. (My daughter ****** who gave it to her.) I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor at least told me that the card was closed due to a zero balance. After 12 months, this company charges a $5 monthly fee. It ate up the entire gift card balance. I would rate them as zero stars if I could!

    Stay away!! These people are crooks! They take your money for a "gift card" then deplete funds when your don't use it - LONG before the expiration date. When you call the number on the card you're asked the balance of the card, which is crazy - how is anyone supposed to remember that? And they then charge you a $5 fee every month for "inactivity". They are a RIP OFF! This should not be legal - all a purchaser is doing is lining the pockets of the crooks that own this company. I've obvioulsy called the 800 number for customer service; since I don't know who gave the card to me they won't do anything. If you buy a gift card from this company just know you are throwing your money away...you might as well go burn it on the sidewalk so that you at least get some entertainment out of the loss....
