I called ***'s well to diagnose water failure in my house. I was given no dollar value over the phone for an appointment which in a consumers mind means no call out fee. So, ***'s was not at my residence for more than 30 minutes and requested 400$. I declined that payment as it made no sense for services rendered, so the employee then said 250$. The company had 2 men with them and did no more than a diagnostic which was not made clear on the price before hand. The services rendered were 6 nut screws removed from the top of a well cover along with myself, the customer, help them extract a pvc pipe from the well itself. It took under a minute to pull the pipe from the well. I was then informed it would cost 1700$ to replace the well pump. The pump itself is 400$ on the high end and installation is capable to anyone with a handy skill set. I was taken advantage of being a younger homeowner without working water. I would absolutely agree to 50$ to ***'s Well for a call out fee, but I am absolutely disputing the 250$ charge. I furthermore contacted several well and pump business' in my current area code and had not 1 estimate that equals or surpasses ***'s Well. I am a disabled veteran without working water and this is despicable. Thank you for your time.
