Richard was very kind. He came over right away to see if we had a continuous leak. He not only made sure everything was okay but he also showed me how to check the meter. I really appreciated that. I would highly recommend D&R.

Back in October of 2021 we had reached out to D&R plumbing due to the main water breaking in our front yard. My husband works for a company in B********** and has used D&R for business needs, we thought he would do a good job since we already had a business relationship. We spoke with Richard (owner) on the phone multiple times leading up to the main repair. He had quoted us around 6,000-7,000 for the entire job which included digging up the front yard and replacing the main water line FROM CURB TO HOME connection. Due to rain we kept getting rescheduled, completely understandable. Him and his team decided to come do the repair in a complete downpour where we told him if the weather would interfere we would gladly reschedule. We paid a $4,000 upfront deposit and we thought we would only have to cover a couple thousand more once the repair was completed per the est. Absolutely wrong. On top of that deposit he charged us $5,588.00. He also told us that after the repair was done he would be sending a contactor to level the ground for us since our entire yard was left in disarray. Our front yard (which is small might i add) was never levelled and fixed from this repair. Fast forward to this weekend 7/27. The main pipe has burst again. We called D&R to let them know what was happening since they did the first repair and Richard started rattling off high numbers. My husband dug the hole himself to avoid the 2,500 Richard was claiming would cost his guys to dig by hand. We exposed to connection and found black farm hose to the main house connection. D&R told us and charged us for replacing the whole pipe from the curb the the house connection which was CLEARLY not done. I have photos of what our plumber found today at the connection and photos of D&R working in our yard. Every plumber we have spoken to since this repair has said we were severely taken advantage of and were overcharged by thousands of dollars. We should be compensated and this be made right by D&R

I want to say that I am sorry for the leak, but it was 3 years ago & it was on the upside of the repairs that was done 3 years ago. The original work was not from the inside. To have it done on the inside would be much more involved & would require excavation on the inside of the home. In regards to the outside - We all agree to have the whole line replace up to the home as close as possible & to have it replace out to the meter meter in the yard as well. Again there was no way to guarantee how the pipes were running under the slab under the home & all the cost / repairs were agreed on back over 3 years ago and was approved & inspected by the local inspector & paid in full with no issues.
Now it's three years later, the quote from this past weekend was from my excavator to come back out & that was even to have it done on a Sunday as you called on Saturday. I am sorry, but it was a weekend and a Sunday as you requested. I mentioned to your husband that if he was to dig up the area & to have just myself come out to make repairs would be about $400 depending on parts. He showed me pic and was able to get a friend to fix the broken pipe that was clearly on the upside of the repairs. The existing black PVC water line can get very brittle & there is even a chance of future cracks are breaks in the future as your husband is very much aware can happen again - Even 3 year from now if not sooner.
Your husband called me & thank me for my time over the weekend & was very appreciative for my comments & recommendations on how to save money. He also wished me well on my family issues that we are going thru & I knew that if he was able to get the area open for a spot repair, the repairs would be easy.
I am always open to my customers & have been in business for over 25 years. We are family owned & operated, I am again happy that it is all fixed & working & glad that I was able to work with your husband on my suggestions to help him thru this process to get the line fixed so that it did not cost as much, especially over the weekend.
      Thanks again - Richard

This morning I had a bit of a plumbing emergency so I called D&R plumbing. Richard Folks picked up the phone. He let me know that he could not do house calls today but he did give me excellent advice such as what to look for in a plumbing company and some questions to ask them to avoid being over-charged in an emergency situation. About 2 minutes later he called me back and asked a few more follow-up questions about my situation. Ultimately he was able to walk me through exactly what I needed to do to mitigate my most pressing water issue as well as advise me on the parts I needed to ultimately fix my problem. I'm not a plumbing expert, so Richard's advice saved me a lot of time and money. Throughout the morning he texted me to check in on my progress until I was able to get my problem fully resolved! This was quite simply over and above service at no charge! I am incredibly grateful and can't say enough good things about D&R plumbing and Richard Folks in particular!
