On 1/17 I brought an Antique Imperial, Solid 14K Gold Pocket Watch, that has been in my family for 6 generations into *******'s Jewelry at *********************************************************************. The pocket watch has been passed down and is very special to our family. We come from a long line of Ashkenazi Gypsey's and for a time this was the most valuable possession my family had. Today it is valued between $1,500 and $2,000 but is worth way more than that to me! It has the heart beat of my ancestors inside and I am devastated to think that is is gone. The shop seemed very professional with lots of beautiful raw stones and custom made jewelry inside. There was another customer inside picking up jewelry when I was there and everything seemed like a great shop. The web sight says they have been in business for 30 years and has great reviews. www.robertosjewelers.com . ******* said the watch would need to be left there for an evaluation and he would call me with what needed to be done. He called on 1/23 and said the watch needed an $250 overhaul and it would take two weeks. I agreed to pay for the work to be done and gave him the green light. It now has been 5 weeks. I have called more than 10 times with no answer or response. I have e-mail'd as well with no response. I went to the Store on 3/7 and it was closed ( during hours when it said it was open) and all the cases inside were empty. I hope that maybe he just went out of a town for a bit or something... but I can't help feel like the store is closed for good an a precious family heirloom is gone. I totally don't care if the work not fixt the watch has been done I just want to have my pice of family heritage back.
