They were suppose to remove all rose bushes and Dogwood bushes, and decorative stone removed from all flower beds. They cut the bushes and roses bushes down, but didn’t remove any of the roots. They also covered the stones up with the weed barrier, then put mulch on top of everything . They didn’t put enough mulch down so the weed barrier shows through on all the beds. Then on the corner flower beds in the back they were suppose to dig out the tall grass and all the roots from bushes and remove decorative stones and put grass down. They didn’t remove the roots or remove the stones, they laid the grass on top of everything. Around my front and back trees they were suppose to remove bricks and decorative stone transfer some plants to go around tree put weed barrier down and then mulch. Stones were not removed and not enough mulch. They didn’t put any weed barrier or mulch around one of the bushes and didn’t remove the irises,or dig up the roots from the bushes they just sawed them off and let the rest stick up out of the ground. They laid grass over everything. Thecorner flower bed by the back of the house they sawed the bushes down again. They were suppose to put pavers down, which I was led to believe the were the big gray pavers and not brick pavers they ordered. I had over 700 hundred bricks removed from my flower beds he could have used for the patio instead of ordering more bricks which I didn’t want. He said I broke the contract which I don’t think I did since he wasn’t correcting anything he didn’t do that was suppose to be done. He charged me for bushes I didn’t receive and charged me for stacking my old bricks that was not in the contract. He also calls me crazy and I was making up stuff. He was very over powering and he was always right and I was always wrong. My yard is a big disaster and I’m going to have to get someone to fix everything he did wrong. This man lies so much and he used my husbands death to blame me for everything. This man has no respect for women and he makes you feel stupid and that you don’t know what your talking about. Don’t want any contact with this man afraid of what he would to me or my property

      Business Response

      Date: 11/25/2022

Good morning, this is *** ********* , the owner. I wanted to respond personally on this as I dealt with this from the beginning. We have been servicing the town of O'fallon for over 30 years and do an average of 40 homes a year. Thats 12,000 homes just in O'fallon. I personally do every estimate and sale by contract. In 30 years , this has never happened before , and I believe this is the downfall of our contract. I met with Mr. and Mrs. *****. We went through all the normal stuff, pick out new plants, pavers, brick patio, colors, and all work . This work is all itemized and put on a contract that the customer sighns and puts half down on the job. Customer receives a copy, and we order materials. The customer is told that we are atleast a year out for work. They sign contract and place order. Time goes by and we are getting close to starting. We call  Mrs ***** to schedule the start and she alarms us that her husband has passed away. I was dumbfounded. This has never happened before. I felt horrible for her. Mrs. ***** requested that we give her some time, we were more than willing. Told her to call when ready. Several months she calls and we start. We perform everything by the contact as every job. She immediately starts asking for stuff not on contract. I explain that it will get added on at end of contract. The stones she thinks she paid for to us move ,is not on the contract. Figured Id be nice , considering. These are four foot by four stacks , two of them wheel barrelled from front to back yard and stacked. All for free. She never paid for stump removal, when I would tell her she would disreguard the contract like it was nothing.I would tell her this is a real contract, you cant just makeup stuff thats not on here and expect us to do it for free.  I responded each night to her phone calls complaining of not enough mulch. She was there and knows squirrells demolished her mulch overnight exposing the fabric. I have pictures of all damage and her nasty texts constantly. Also noticing the plants are dying from lack of water. She admitted to not watering as she cant move the hoses. I helped her out and set up all her hoses and started her watering. I feared the worst and I was right. I have bent over backwards fir this lady. Everytime i leave she thinks me for helping and shes making me cookies. Two days later calls my home at 7am on a Sunday morning. Waking my family, complaining all over again. Like a totally different person than Friday. Tells me her and the neighbor are finishing the job, that we arent doing it right. At this point that breaks a certain trust issue and Im getting worried. I calm her down again explaining she didnt pay for root removal its not on the contract. Again, dismisses the contract saying she cant read it. At this point we awould normally stop work at this house and demand full payment for stopping us from working and fulfilling the contract. We decide to finish the contract after talking it out again. She wants to add more plants and goes to the nursery putting them on my tab telling them i said so. Cashier got in trouble. It was $168.00 I let this go. So I Send ove r the patio brick her husband and her ordered and of course its not the right color, size, kind, etc. We are done. I have a meeting in the office, and 100% wanted to semd to court to get full payment. I, the owner, in lue of her husbands death request to let her out of her contract and the remainder of $2500. I pay to have the palletts removed from her home and returned to brick yard. Call her and let her know of whats happening. She starting crying and thanked me. apologized for her behavier that this was still too soon to start this project. She still missed her husband so much , she got me crying on the phone myself. Went to her house closed out the contact with her signature and receipt given. I felt so bad I ordered a grave blancket for her husbands grave. This email came the day they called and said the grave blancket was ready. I just dont understand people these days. Very disappointed in this whole thing. Its like the more I helped her the more she attacked me. This is our last year doing residential homes for this very reason. 30 years of abuse and keeping and A+ with BBB has been a challenge. Thank you for Everything!
