    Roots was hired by our neighbor to cut trees down in his hard. While trying to back in, the Roots truck didn't have a spotter looking out, hit power lines, continued to drive, and ripped out electrical panel off of our house. After contacting our insurance company, we were advised to contact the owner of Roots in order to obtain their insurance information. After speaking to the owner, we were told we were "inconveniencing him" and that he would get an attorney to fight us on this. In the mean time, we had no power, had to make an insurance claim on our homeowners insurance (even though these weren't our trees, nor had anything to do with our home), and have been left with all of the bills in addition to the damage to the siding of our home. After making the insurance claim, our insurance company has tried numerous times to contact him regarding his fault and the repayment of damages. He has continued to be noncompliant in all regards and has also been downright disrespectful to not only us (the homeowners, with a damaged home and numerous electrical bills, who are the most innocent in this entire situation), but all insurance parties that have attempted to get to the bottom of this.

    Here at Roots we treat all people with the utmost respect while holding the line of truth, even when the situation is not in our favor.  We use all DOT inspected vehicles that are road worthy.  Line clearance on a public road is not a Roots matter, but an issue for Ameren and the city to handle allowing all vehicles to pass under safely.  While we understand the frustration the ******** are experiencing and realize the issue was inconvenient for them, our insurance is not responsible for low hanging lines on public roads. 

    Our crew handled the issue with professionalism, calling ****** and waiting for them to show up.  We have apologized and been compliant and helpful, participating in any documentation with the ******** insurance company.  The owners of our company have personally followed up with the insurance company, the Mayor of their town, reached out to Ameren, and made two phone contacts with **********************   In response to this review we have provided documentation of our correspondence with their insurance company to the ******** directly, in hopes that they were simply left out of the loop by their insurance company, with no response. 

    We realize the process is slow when dealing with insurance and it has caused them to spend money for repairs up front until the claim has been closed and they have been properly reimbursed.  To show our appreciation for their patience, we offered them a grocery gift card to ease the burden of this unexpected expenditure, with no response.  

    Since this is an ongoing case, we hope that when then investigation is closed, the ******** are reimbursed by the rightful party and reevaluate the situation to see that we have done all that we can and that the insurance waiting game is out of our hands.  

    If the investigation finds that Roots is liable for reimbursement, we will happily pay and make the matter right.  Until then, we will follow the proper procedure for this matter and update our response with the findings.
