  They came into my home for the chicago bungalow to blow insulation, instead they set my house on fire and did an AWFUL job at "making it better than new"DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY IN

  To BBB,DNR Construction received notification of the complaint received from ******* Snow. We were performing weatherization work at the home when the incident client refers to occurred. Our crew arrived in the morning performing air sealing and insulation work in the home. While our crew was outside of the house eating lunch, someone in the home turned on a switch causing an illegal overload transformer box in the attic to catch fire. Our crew hearing the smoke alarms ran into the house and extinguished the fire. However, the homeowner had already contacted 911 and multiple fire units responded to the home. Due to the amount of smoke within the home, the fire departments flooded the home with water. The response caused extensive water damage to the home, including the ceiling, walls, floors, and numerous personal items belonging to the residents of the home. *** immediately responded to the water damage immediately sending additional employees to the home to begin restoration services at the home. We began to work with the client outside of their insurance to address the damages created by the fire response. The home is located within the City of **********, the City our company has been located within since its founding in 1997. We have an excellent reputation within the community and worked immediately to work with this client. We worked with the City of ********** inspection services. We had obtained permits for additional restoration and electrical work being performed at the home. We worked closely with the electrical inspector to address multiple code compliance issues with the existing electric wiring in the home. We changed and corrected all the electrical issues in the home as required by the City. All these corrections were to address issues not done by *** originally. This was done to assist the homeowner in avoiding further delays in having the house returned to its prior condition. We worked with client providing daily updates on work performed - including the water mitigation, installation of new drywall, painting, sanding, and staining of hardwood floors, new light fixtures, cleaning of clothes and other personal items inside of the home. Work was performed and completed with proper inspections performed by City of ********** to close out the permits pulled. The client was provided a construction sign off form which was signed indicating all issues were properly addressed in the home. The letter was accompanied with a payment to compensate for miscellaneous items which had been damaged or unaccounted for after everything was completed. We believe we did everything we could to take care of the damages done at this home unrelated to the actual original weatherization work we were performing for the client.
