ABAL Cooling & Heating will not replace my central air unit which I have a warranty on. I am disabled with asthma and I need my unit now with these unbearable weather conditions.Business Response

The customer declined warranty maintenance on 4/10/25 and 4/18/25 and only called when there was an issue with the cooling. Our service charge was explained and the customer agreed. A technician was dispatched and upon inspection it was discovered that some wires had been chewed (most likely by an animal) and the corner of the condenser was eroded most likely by an animal urinating on it. Please see attached photo. Since no maintenance was done and since the cause of the failure was not manufacture defect then nothing is covered under the manufacture warranty. Furthermore the account is now in arrears as the service charge was not paid. Per the contract (a copy of which was provided by the customer in their complaint) there is no warranty and as such this complaint has no merit.Initial Complaint

July 2023 I experienced a flood. I hired ***** Heating and Cooling thru a friend, A decision that I regret. My furnace was installed but the work was not completed. I had several issues with the installation It leaked right after putting it in. The top floor wasn't heating right I was told by a worker That they would come back to drill a hole in my floor for the heat to go upstairs. Nothing is done at this point. I called *********** came back out again. Same thing they promised to fix ****** heard Nothing. Months go by My heat came on in June I called, texted Bill several times no response from him. Desperate,& scared we turned off the safety switch. Now it's getting cold Called the office for update on my issue Warranty about to expire I spoke to **** he said he'll look into for me That took several attempts Then **** said I had to pay ***** to have someone to come out again My Warranty is still good expiring ****** I was told by **** that they don't do any electrical I have to hire a handyman or electrician They shouldn't told me that they're going to change the wire FEMA paid 8945 for the job. Once you get a quote from a company the job should be completed. It's cold I have no heat at this point I have small kids Bill do the right thing and fix my heat ASAPBusiness Response

Our records do show that a contract for a new boiler was entered 10/25/23 and the work was completed. After that we show not attempts to contract us until we were contacted 8/23/24 about an issue of no heat. We scheduled and sent a technician out 8/26/24. The customer has an issue with the low voltage electric going from the thermostat to the central control system (that was pre-existing control and was not replaced as part of the new boiler contract) which was preventing a call for heat to the new boiler. Once that control system was bypassed and a call for heat was manually sent to the boiler the new boiler operated properly. Even though the issue preventing the new boiler from coming on was not related to our work, as a courtesy, the customer was not charged anything for this visit and we recommended a licensed, bonded and insured electrician be contacted to repair the damaged wire. Once that wire is replaced there should be no further issue, but if there is an issue with any work we were contracted to do within the last year is obviously under warranty for manufacture defect.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Here Is Some Of The Documentation I Here's a video of the first installment of my furnace as you can tell it's leaking called Mr ******************** regarding the leak he sent his workers out to stop the leak at that time we we're told twice that they had to come back to drill a hole in the floor in order for the heat to go upstairs no one came after several calls and winter is coming minimal heat upstairs summer is here the heat came on out of nowhere call and text Mr ******************** in regards to this matter he didn't return my calls or answer my text a month or so goes by I called again he responded I asked why didn't he respond to my desperate calls and text he stated that he was out of town I said to him that I had an emergency with this furnace and you could've sent somebody else out to look at it that's how you treat your clients I was soo livid!!! I'm getting a jump on the fall season so I call again I spoke to someone named **** he tried helping me I got the runaround with him also now mind you at this point I still have No heat period!! Warranty about to Expire Mr ******************** says I have to pay more money for them to look at it and I have to hire an Electrician or handyman to complete the job wow so this is where I stand right now My husband and I are disabled with three grandchildren living here I just want some heat it's cold!! We Still Dont Have Heat .

According to our records, the new boiler was installed on or around 10/23/23. Our contract was to provide and install a new boiler with all necessary materials to connect to the existing utilities, chimney, heat distribution & control systems. In that we did not receive any calls about the boiler not heating throughout the course of the winter season one can only assume that the new boiler was working as it was designed. We did receive a call 8/26/24 about an issue with the heat and an appointment was set for 8/29/24. Our technician diagnosed the system as: "Found faulty stat wire from first floor to Calefi zone box". Even though that was not covered under our warranty the customer was not charged for the visit and it was recommended they contact an electrician to repair the house wire. If there was an issue after the electrician made the necessary repairs we could come back and diagnose further. Until the wire is repaired there isn't anything we can do.Initial Complaint

The company came out 10/5/2022 to check and clean Boiler. The minute they left the boiler stated to make loud noise. So they back and said needed a part for ****** I bought it they came back and put it on. On 10/08/2022 they were back.then I had to call again the guy said nothing wrong, had a very nasty attitude. Then on the 26th had to called them back again because for some days the gas was going on and off and making a loud noises, so I just cut the heat but befor I cut it off I made video of the noise and the gas going on and off and then it would just cut, then it come back on during the same thing. So I said I better cut it off and call someone else. So I called another heating company because now I am afraid.So I feel I should get every honest dime that I paid out for nothing. I paid ***** for cleaning ****** for a part I didnt need, The other company that came I paid ***** to fix what they didnt. Also my ***** I gave for a tip. Total of ******. I am a senior and on a fixed income and have been letting these people take care of things for a long time, they put my boiler in, and now they treat me like nothing even when I called the officer to complaint. 10/5/22 Our first visit was for annual maintenance. $90.00
10/8/22 A service call was set for an issue with the heat and the gas valve was replaced. $594.
10/26/22 A warranty call was schedule for an issue with the heat. 10/28/22 I, ***, spoke to ********** this morning and her statements do not match our records. She stated that on our third visit the technician did not even come inside and the she told me that it was making the noise while he was there. Those two statements contradict each other.
10/27/22 A warranty call was scheduled for a strange noise and the unit constantly cycling and a video was played for us over the phone. A technician was dispatched and he was turned away at the door. Whomever answered the door said the issue had already been resolved.
10/28/22 In my conversation with ********** she said she called another company and they tightened up some wires and the unit stopped making the noise. We clearly were prepared to honor our warranty on her part and it is possible that in the process of installing the new gas valve some of the wire were not connected all the way. However, that is why we have warranties and return at no extra charge if there is an issue with our work. If a customer wants to call another company that is fine but we are not responsible for that.
At this time we will not be offering any refunds, but we will continue to honor our one year warranty (against manufacture's defect) for all services rendered.

******************* I was charged for something that was not needed. I want my refund. And the person they sent out did not come in and was very nasty to me and my granddaughter. Since he refused to come in we had to get my boiler fixed. I do have 3 witnesses that was at my house at the time. The owner heard the noise because I recorded it to let him hear it. If a person refused to come in and kept saying nothing is wrong , I did what I am supposed to do and that is call someone else. This is not the first time they have send people out with nasty attitudes. I got witnesses that even try to ask him to look at it and he refused and left. I have cameras.Business Response

I will gladly look at the camera footage from ALL, especially the one prior to the last one of the visits, because I will agree that on the last visit we did not come in because we were turned away at the front door by a relative of yours and it was on that day that you played the audio for me to hear. However, if you already hired another company to come out and turn us away at the door I fail to see how that is our fault. We obviously were willing to honor our warranty as we gladly came each time you called.Customer Answer
