I hired them to cater my wedding on 09/17/2022. Upon hiring them I told them there would be a full kitchen at their disposal to keep food hot ect. I paid almost $1,200 for this food. They show up and set up, myself being the bride, I was the first person to get food. It was lukewarm at best, so I know by the time all of my guest got through the line it was more than cold. The chicken was dry even with the bbq sauce, the white buns were hard as a rock, the roasted potatoes were actually country fried potatoes and completely burnt i mean black as can be. The Mac and cheese was over cooked and completely congealed together and lacked any type of taste. I was so embarrassed with how little my guest ate due to no one finding cold and ***** food appealing. (Rightfully so as I ate only the salad on my plate) my second mother approached the owner that was there and he said to give him a call the next week. So she called and his wife said to keep on him as the owner tends to procrastinate and that he would want to hear from me personally. I have called, left voicemail, sent an email and even reached out via ******** messenger. I have had multiple others call on my behalf to no response. I have been I feel more professional in this situation than the owner. I feel taken advantage of for being too kind and feel some refund is due also for the fact that the food they didnt use they took with them and I have never heard of that. When the owner finally got back to me he said due to me not accepting the free tasting that was offered to me he would not refunded and stated they had people coming up for second and thirds with plenty of compliments. When I asked my guest that night only two people seemed to be happy with the food the rest of the guest were so hungry that they asked if they could eat my cupcakes even before I got to cut my cake. He also claimed that I had changed my complaints multiple times but I had only spoke to him once via email when he declined a partial refun

    Business Response

This customer has left a ****** review as well as a ******** message and an email. I personally spoke with her mother on 3 separate occasions. Each time Ive spoken to someone (or theyve left a review or message) the complaint has changed. Originally when the mother approached my husband at the end of the wedding she only complained that the chicken was dry. After the chicken was gone (from guests coming back for additional servings) there was still 1/8in of juice covering the bottom of the pan. The mother then called me the very next day to complain and at that point stated that you ruined her entire day at that point we were less interested in working out compromise due to the story the mother told me not matching what she told my husband the night of the wedding and also the ****** dramatic nature of the mother wanting a total refund. I told the mother that my husband and I would need to discuss a resolution and ultimately speak with the bride. When she returned from her honeymoon I received a ******** message and a ****** review in 24 hours. Again the email and ****** review complaints didnt match and each time we receive a complaint it seems to have more added to it. I know for a fact the food was not cold as we temped it several times. I do not believe the food was inedible as there were little to no leftovers. As for the bride not liking the potatoes or Mac and cheese she would have known that if she had done the tasting we offered to her at no cost. The food we served was the food we serve at every wedding and it is what were known for. This wedding was booked a year in advance and our pricing structure did change (we did not charge them more since they were locked into the price we originally quoted) this couple also had ***** more guests than what the invoice charged for (again we did not charge them extra). I  dont believe this customer was entitled to a refund therefore we did not provide one.

I am rejecting this response because: My step mother approaching the owner was something that was not told to me until the next day. My grievances against the company has never changed when I reached out via phone call/voicemail, (that went unanswered) my email, (that went unanswered for multiple days) and finally when I reached out on messenger and saw that it was read over six plus hours ago and still no response I then left a review. The food was indeed cold and I am sure if it were to have been anything above barely lukewarm and the potatoes not completely burnt it would have been more enjoyable for myself and my guest. For doing me a favor and not changing the pricing it was already in the contract regardless for the set price. The company was told there would be anywhere from 100 to 150 people as was then reiterated in the email the week before the wedding. The number that showed up to my wedding was 86 including the wedding party so not sure how the company is trying to claim we went over the number paid for. I have been nothing but professional about such a stressful situation.

    Sincerely,
