    I saw an ad on TV about Jackson Hewitt offering 1/2 off filing fees toward the end of the filing Season. I usually file my taxes as soon as I get my W2s. I am a Single Mom. I have used H and R Block for decades. But was sick of paying $400 for my tax return. I have simple taxes. I dont own. I rent. Easy tax preparation. I even mentioned to this Jackson Hewitt tax preparer Pinky when I sat down with her. I told her how I couldnt afford H &R Blocks $400 fees for simple taxes. Right then, she could have stopped and told me that Jackson Hewitt charges $600 for my taxes. SHE DID NOT! She continued to enter my simple information. I mentioned to her that I am a Single Mom and that I pay over $600 a year for ************************ she did not mention whether or not I could deduct tuition. When she was done, she told me that I was receiving $1230 from the federal. And $311 from the State of *********** received my Federal return on 4/28/2023. $800.00 . I called her a week later, and I was told that she looked into my State return ( which she LIED about) She told me **** weeks for State returns . I waited 2 weeks after, and called the State of ******** myself. They had NO RECORD of my tax return ever being filed. I called my tax preparer back. She said that she would look into it. 2 days later, a colleague of hers called back and told me that they mailed my return again and that I would get my State refund in **** weeks. Mailed???? Every time I file my taxes, they are ELECTRONICALLY FILED! I am so unhappy with this Jackson Hewitt (non)Service!!! Do Not use this company. Just an EXPENSIVE HASSLE!
