    On Dec 15th 2023, my husband and I went in person to the business and put down a deposit ($850) for an order of carpet for one room in our house. The owner told us that given the upcoming holidays, the carpet would most likely arrive after New Years and installation would happen either 2nd or 3rd week of January. We had not heard anything after that point and called into his store around Jan 25. There was no answer. We gave another day or two and called again. His mailbox was full. At this point, I decide to go back on Yelp and see several recent terrible reviews stating that others also had put down a deposit and never heard back from the owner. I proceeded to call the business number a few more times to make sure but it went to voicemail and states the voicemail box was full. (as of today, Feb 2, the number is disconnected). On Jan 29 I filled out the contact form on his business website, messaged his business ******** profile and emailed the business gmail address asking him to get back to me. It has been 4 days with no word from the business owner. His storefront states there is a family emergency but based on a conversation I had with another customer, it looks like he is just *** and the business is shut down. I believe the owner was taking deposits as late as Dec 2023 with no intention of delivering on goods.

    I am writing to file a formal complaint against Alpha Carpet, located at ****************************************************************, and its owner, ***, for failure to provide contracted services and lack of communication, leading to a potential consumer fraud situation.Transaction Details:Service Provider: Alpha Carpet, ***** Owner: *********************** Service Description: Carpet Installation Agreement Date: December 2023 Down Payment Made: $1250 on 12/06/2023, (total invoice was $2550.19)Payment Method: Zelle Contract or Agreement Details: Removal and haul away of old carpet and padding, and the installation of new carpet and padding in three bedrooms of my residence.Despite making the required down payment as per the agreement, there has been no commencement of the contracted services. Repeated attempts to contact *****, the owner, for an update or explanation have been consistently ignored. This lack of communication and failure to fulfill the contractual obligations has not only caused financial loss but also significant inconvenience.Action Taken So Far:Multiple text messages were sent to ***, seeking updates on the project status, all of which have been ignored.A formal written Demand for Performance was sent to Alpha Carpet on 1/8/2024, demanding the initiation of the contracted services or a full refund. As of this date, there has been no response.I seek the intervention of BBB to investigate this matter for potential consumer fraud and to assist in obtaining a full refund of the down payment made. Furthermore, I believe this complaint may highlight a pattern of behavior that could affect other consumers.

    Purchase Date - 12/11/2023 Purchase Price - $1,787.34 Products Purchased - Mannington Flooring (340 sf) Threshold and molding QTY. 5. Delivery/freight charge Dispute Details - A portion of the product purchased has not been delivered. Multiple calls, emails, and a visit to the store's location were made. There has been no response.

    Carpet was not delivered or installed by Alpha Carpet. Every week, they have an excuse. Now, they dont answer their phone or text messages. The store has been closed for a few weeks now. A message on the door states "Closed for Emergency". All I want is my 8K returned. Thank you, ****** & *********************. (I'm wondering if they ever ordered our carpet.)
