On 4/7/23, I was driving eastbound from the *********** on the *********************************************************. I heard a clank under my car, I looked in the rearview mirror and saw something bounce to the side of the road. My oil light went on and I became immediately concerned. I nursed my car over to ************* at ********************** ********.The mechanic stated my oil filter had fallen off. I walked down ************* and saw the oil slick and located the oil filter on the side of the road where I heard the clank. The mechanic at Advanced Auto noted it was the wrong filter for my car. Advanced installed the correct filter, and refilled the oil, etc. Advanced Auto was concerned there could be engine damage. Advanced Auto provided me with a carfax report proving that Northwest Oilers was the last place to service my car. I took my receipts to NW Oilers to request a refund and for them to pay for the work done at Advance Auto. ***** the manager admitted it was the wrong filter for my car and that "***" the owner could write me a check for the expenses, but *** would be in the following day at 8am and I could come back. On 4/8/23, I returned to NW Oilers with all my paperwork and met with ************************* the owner. He denied performing the original oil change stating he doesn't use ***************** filters. There is no proof the filter came from his shop. He then threatened to call the police. (fyi-I'm a senior citizen) I called Service Champ the oil filter supplier, information I obtained off the side of the filter. I talked to ****. **** is the account representative for Northwest Oilers in ******** and has been for over 25 years.********* is his customer.**** confirmed it was the wrong filter for my car. **** stated Service Champ supply's filter OF4622 to ********* regularly. However the inventory system does not track individual filters. ********* won't refund my money or pay for repairs at Advance. It's clear NW Oilers made a mistake. They should be honest.
