Our dog had been going to A Closer Bond since he was 8 weeks old. We thought that the staff was wonderful and that he was well taken care of. He is now 2.5 years old, and when picking him up from daycare we found that he had a bark collar around his neck. He was shocked multiple times in the back of our car before we realized what was happening. We never gave the facility approval to utilize one, and he was never trained on its use. When we called and asked them if it was a mistake, they confirmed they were aware, and it was put on him "because they were busy and he was barking." We were appalled on their lack of empathy for our dog, and the fact that they would knowingly use a device that could scare and hurt our pet without asking us for the OK. We have no idea if they're doing this to other dogs or have used it on our dog previously without our knowledge.
