    They issued a store credit but when I tried to use it their website would not accept it and they charged my vcredit card instead of letting me use the gift card they issued to me I was ripped me off for $80. The $80 was their charge 15% credit card fee even though there’s gift card code number would not work.

    I am trying to resolve the issue of an additional $80 that was paid on 3/5/25.

    Dear Mr. ***** ****,

    Your online business mislabeled a non-CA-Compliant pistol as "CA Legal" and sold me one. I am writing to request a return and a full refund of my purchase.

    I am a WI resident who frequently travels to CA. I purchased a pistol advertised as "CA Legal" from Locked and Loaded on July 25th; the order number is ******. However, when I contacted the manufacturer last week, the manufacturer told me that the model is not CA compliant. I conveyed my concern to your Customer Service team; however, your CS representative unequivocally denied any wrongdoing and claimed that the firearm is legal in CA without any reasonable explanation. Would you be able to find a way to investigate and resolve this issue?

    ***** *** *** purchased a firearm with the label: KAHR K9 9MM 3.5 SS NS 8RD CA LEGAL BLEM. The same firearm and model are listed on the oag.ca.gov website under the Handguns Certified for Sale list.

    Also, if you research the UPC: ************, you will see that everyone has it labeled exactly as we advertised.

    It is ultimately the responsibility of the consumer/ customer to research an item to verify it is legal for them to own/ transfer. This is listed in our terms and conditions. htt s: lockedloaded.com store-
    if there were ever any questions raised as to if an item is prohibited in a certain area, a consumer has numerous resources to verify this information before purchasing. From the Handguns registered for sale on California's government website to a local credible FFL in California that handles the legality of firearm ownership in their state.

    Lastly, we do explain in the order confirmation, to inspect the firearm before accepting a firearm as well.

     

    In conclusion, a refund will not and cannot be issued as the customer has accepted the firearm from his FFL.

     I am rejecting this response because:

     

    Regardless of what the retailer says, the item I received is not CA Compliant, according to the manufacturer. The manufacturer has specialized knowledge in the subject area. On the other hand, locked & loaded, Ltd. does not.

     

    The store policy does not supersede the law.

     

    Thank you for the response, but I am rejecting the resolution from the retailer.

    You are rejecting the response because I was able to verify that the firearm you purchased was not mislabeled and is listed on the California Registered Handgun Certified for Sale. Locked & Loaded's store policy is actually irrelevant to your complaint as the firearm is legal in California and you were misinformed by the manufacturer. No refund will be issued.

    The manufacturer is the one that handles state compliance and certification. The manufacturer has no incentives to misinform me. The manufacturer discovered the matter in the dispute and confirmed the finding.
