    SCAM - Do NOT Send Money! This is your garden variety predatory company that uses misleading language and marketing to scare people in to sending them money for services they can get for a few dollars at their local municipality. They disclose in small sections that they are soliciting with the mailer but the intent of the message is to SCAM people out of money. They are the epitome of the predatory company everyone hates that tries to get rich by doing absolutely no real service to the community or people. Anyone working for the company should be embarrassed. You can compare them to scam callers from foreign countries trying to bilk people out of their hard earned cash. Watch the canned response they post in reply to this because they cannot provide an honest defense to their practices or approach. Why not just actually provide a real service that people need?

    We, at Local Records Office, are a legitimate business entity. We provide a service wherein a consumer can obtain a copy of their Deed or other Record of Title. We make it clear that we are not a government agency or are associated with any governmental agency. We do not misrepresent our identity either. We are legitimate business entity with the name of Local Records Office, which advises the consumer that we deal with records, specifically Deeds or other Records of Title. There is nothing false, misleading or deceptive within which we operate our business. We make it clear to the consumer that our letter is a solicitation and not a bill. The consumer is advised that they are under no obligation to pay for our service unless they accept our offer and request our service. In this case, the consumer did not accept our offer.
