    November 2023, I spoke to *** ***** about his company installing awnings for my school. Through phone calls and emails, we made the decision on what type of awnings. On January 11, 2024, ***** employee came to school and measured the spaces for the awnings and I gave him a check for $4014.24. He told me once the weather turned nice, he would be back to install the 2 awnings. I called the company on Mon. April 15 and Tues. April 16, the phone rang busy each time I tried calling. I emailed *** ***** and his email bounced back to me. I then tried calling his cell phone and the message stated the number had been changed. I then called the BBB for guidance. Being a School, I trusted *** and Central IL Awning to install the awnings. This is not acceptable and I want our money refunded to us.

    We signed a contract with Central Illinois Awning to take our current awning brackets and install new awning coverings on the brackets that were owned by us. Two employees came and uninstalled the brackets but we never received the awnings. I called and e-mailed the company repeated times and got a few responses via e-mail and phone. Starting in the Winter of 2023/2024 I left messages on their machine and did not get any responses for them to both finish the job or return the brackets and the money we paid. In February 2024 the phone was disconnected and I drove by the company location and saw that the building was for sale. We are looking for a REFUND in the amount we paid for the services AND the DELIVERY of our awning brackets that they uninstalled.

    Sign a contract on 5/25/23 to have this company replace my back porch awning. Now we are in March of 2024 and they haven’t been out once to work on this project. I tried contacting several times for a refund. And got no reply. Now the company’s email does not work.

    This company quoted and came to collect a check of the amount of $3747.05. After 3 weeks of no showing to take our awning, they finally came on Nov. 1nd. After 3 months of never answer any calls or emails, I now see they have conveniently "closed" as of this month. After much research, this seems to be the pattern with ***. He opens businesses and takes the money then closes them. This is truly criminal.

    4984.43 was paid upfront to get an awning Since last August 2023. We have been emailing, and calling, and finally stopped down Feb 2024 because the phones were off the hook and no one answering. Found out the Owner *** ***** took off with everyone's $$. He abandoned the business. I went down and found the owner of the building he was renting from. My client's awning was sitting there, just the fame, and nothing done. I was told there was a court date April 3rd. The business is closed

    Thay have a awning of ours in storage and have close their doors will not return phone calls or answer any emails. We leave in Arizona and have a house in Peoria IL Thay have been take down our awning and storing and reinstalling it for about 5 yr. We had a relative go to their business to see if Thay were still in business there was a four-sale posting on the building.

    In October I received a quote to replace an Awning damaged by wind. This was an Insurance claim covered by State Farm. ***, the owner' required 60% down which was paid 10/27/23 totaling $4,608.52. I was told 6 weeks for delivery and 2 weeks to schedule. Original install date quoted was around Dec 16. I started calling in Mid December for updates but had no success in getting through or call back. I also emailed *** several times for update. In late After Christmas I called for update and I got a call from *** saying he needed full payment before he could install even though contract stated payment once completed. I got suspicious and checked complaints on BBB. After seeing many complaints of my nature I called him back . He said majority of issues were supplier related but my awning was in house. He assured me all is good and he needed final payment of $3,172.35 to get legs shipped. I refused but we did agree on a short payment of $1,000 to get install started He picked up check and cashed same day. He personally guaranteed install week of 01/15 and even sent me pictures of all the awning sections in his warehouse. all last week my emails and phone calls have gone unreturned and today I learned *** disconnected his email. All I want is my awning installed.

    I purchased awnings January 24th 2023
    I wrote a check for $2,905.75 which had to be paid to order them
    After having 5 appointments for installation and 5 no shows I still do not have them. The company will not answer my messages or emails

    Received a quote from Central Illinois Awning on 12/7/22 to recover the awning at my business at **** ********** *** *********** **. I accepted the contract on 1/25/23 since *** was willing to take $500 off his price if the project was paid in full. I paid $2,500 via check which was picked up by ***** employee on 1/26/23 and cleared my bank on 1/27/23. After several delays, on 3/7/23, I was told by *** that the awning would be removed on 3/20/23 so it could be taken back to the shop so the new vinyl could be put on/stretched. No work occurred.

    On 3/17/23, *** said their graphics vendor went out of business and they hoped to have a new one within a week. More excuses, delays, etc. led me to ask for a full refund on 5/31/23. Since then, *** won't take calls or respond to any requests regarding the refund.

    Our complaint against Central Illinois Awning is almost identical to the other complaint against them from March, 2022. We ordered a retractable awning on April 14, 2022. We paid up front for the awning, minus 10%. We have gone through the same song and dance with the owner, *** ****** as the other couple. We were told we would get a refund, but that has never happened. We were given the date of June 20, 2023 for installation, guaranteed.He also told us not to contact him again by phone or email. We have not seen the awning or heard anything more from him.

    We paid $7911.05 for this awning and have nothing to show for it. We have copies of all correspondence from *** and don’t understand how a business owner can lie about taking our money and producing no product and still be in business?

    We know other people have been scammed by him just by reading the other complaints about him. How can this be allowed to happen??
