On April 19, 2024, I met with AJC Home Services to discuss some concrete work. Immediately after I signed the contract with *** ******* from AJC (the contractor which whom I signed), I remembered that I did not clear this cosmetic concrete work with my homeowners' association (HOA). So I immediately contacted *** and told him that I needed to halt the project at once until I got approval from my HOA. He told me that ***** the manager of AJC office would not approve of any halting or cancellation. I made then called ***** and made her fully aware of this. she proceeded to tell me that *** is the owner of the company and it was ultimately his decision.
The homeowners association denied my project.
    AJC refuses to refund me.
If this were a reputable company, they would refund my deposit as they have no investment in this work. They have not had the opportunity to purchase any materials for the project as I informed them of the situation less than 24 hours after I signed the contract.
This company comes across as a very fraudulent operation.

In response to this request for refund of the deposit, we as AJC Home Services are issuing a full refund to the client.
We want to acknowledge that there were circumstances with which we tried to work through with the client.
We received information from the client and not the HOA who was “denying” the project and we asked for contact to the HOA decision makers which the client was reluctant to provide initially.  A letter was received saying project was “denied” but referred to streets and sidewalks when this project was for concrete project for a driveway and the sidewalk from driveway to the house.  It was our concern that the “sidewalk” in the letter from the HOA referred to the street/egress sidewalk.
We were finally provided with the contact information for one HOA member and between emails and voicemails, we reached out 5 times to ask to be able to discuss the scope of the project and clarify the details as based on the letter, that was not made clear and was a vague reference to only sidewalk and did not address the driveway.
We repeated let the customer know in our communication with them that we would refund the money once we had received a denial from the HOA when it was allowed for us to discuss the details/scope of the project so that we could either adjust the project to meet the expectations of the HOA board or accept the final denial of the actual project from the HOA board in documentation to us.

Early in March I agreed with business to paint my house for 87000. after down payment $6000 was left. After many delays and broken promises, I was told someone would power spray the house. I had to call several times. Finally, someone came and spent 10 minutes, the left. I called again & was told he had been fired and someone else would power wash. No one ever showed up I threatened to go to small claims court only then did one painter arrive. After the work done they said I owed $7,500 I noted the balance on the agreement was $6000. They said the extra was for "extra paint" This firm is untrustworthy, deceitful, and dishonest. I would advise against using them.

    Complaint from ***** *******

-completed job on June 6; team walked around house with him and he said was happy with the job, 20 min later *** did another walk-around with him and said he was happy and told us the neighbors complimented the job also; gave us the final check which included an additional charge of $500 for additional paint for shutters which he asked us to do (different color paint) after we had started painting and was not part of the original contract.

-the additional charge was $500, not $1500.  Original contract was for $7000, he gave a $1000 deposit and the balance was $6000 plus the additional $500 which he paid - as $6500.  The additional amount was for paint only - we did not charge the original labor

-all leftover paint was left with him after the job was done.

-complained that his project took long to schedule - this was due to the weather which delayed the painting - his wood needed to be dry to assure the paint would adhere and this was discussed with him multiple times.  The painting was done a week and 1/2 after there had not been any rain.

-said we did not power wash the house.  We had 1 person who went to start the job and had issues and left shortly after arriving.  We did a full power wash of his whole house after that and then later he called and claimed we had not washed it so sent the guys back to wash it a second time, explaining that overwashing would also dry out the wood more. Was reminded once again that the wood would need 5-10 days of dry weather in the Spring to dry properly.

-the wood was overdry and required more paint and paint application that was originally estimated for the job - additional charges were not added to his job for this.

-He had agreed the job was done to his satisfaction upon completion on June 6 and yet waited until June 29 to file his complaint - over 20 days after told both the crew and the owner that the job was done to his satisfaction.

-He was constantly rude and offensive, calling frequently to "check in for update" and threatened with almost every phone call, using offensive language to both the office staff and the on site crew - overheard during a call when the team was at his home.  Told me I needed to "tell *** [offensive language] message and I replied I would not talk with *** that way.  *** went in person to talk with him and tell him that the offensive language and threats needed to stop when talking with the office and the crew.  Constantly threatening that he was typing emails to send to the Attorney General, small claims court and others during the process with several phone calls. *** finally had to tell him that communication needed to be done directly with him and not his office or crew and that he was not to speak to his employees in that offensive and threatening manner anymore.
