We have had two flat tires on our 2023 Highlander in the past month. We bought the Toyota Roadside Assistance insurance when we bought our car which covers everything involved in replacing the tire. Both times when we had the tire replaced, we were charged for the labor, even though I told them multiple times that our policy covers the labor. After the second tire was replaced, I called our insurance and was told that yes labor was covered and actually had been reimbursed to the dealership for the first tire. So, Peoria Toyota actually had our payment for labor as well as payment from the insurance company. The second tire was not turned in for some reason.
After the second tire was replaced and we had our car back, we received a call and text from the service person stating that "since we had used fix a flat on our tire, our tire sensor may not work anymore", and it was recommended that the sensor be replaced at our expense (since we had used fix a flat!). We have never used fix a flat ever, but they wouldn't believe us. We showed the picture of the rim with white stuff on it that they sent as evidence to two people from separate Toyota dealerships who both identified the white stuff as tire paste or butter, which is used to make the tire go on the rim easier. Peoria Toyota's Service Manager, Pete, refused to believe that this was tire paste and was actually quite rude.
The way we were treated during all of this fiasco made us decide we would prefer to have our Toyotas serviced elsewhere. In the end, we were reimbursed for the labor charges but I think it was only because I mentioned the word "fraud" in referrence to this matter. After all of this, we didn't feel that we could trust anyone in the service department at Peoria Toyota which is now owned by *** ********* **** *****.

Long story short, I have been waiting nearly ten months for a new hybrid Highlander. I reached out to Peoria Toyota as they are about two hours south of where I live to see if they may have any vehicles available or coming in their next allocation. Come to find out, they had one available. I happened to notice in the break down of other cars on the website that they add paint protection (luxcare) and VIN etching as dealer add ons of course. These are two of the biggest scams dealerships are forcing upon people. So I asked the sales representative, Toby if these things could please be removed and if so, I would be happy to discuss moving forward and putting a deposit down.
It didn't take long for an argument to ensure regarding the refusal to remove these "MANDATORY" add ons. Upon telling Toby that as customers we both know that these two items are gimmicks and simply money makers for the dealership, he began to lie stating that "most" customers like the paint protection and that these add ons are their way of making sure these cars are available.
Childish ridiculousness aside from both Toby, the salesman and later Todd, the general manager, dealer add ons are NOT MANDATORY and it is criminal to force them onto customers desperate for vehicles. Dealer add ons are OPTIONS that if a customer wishes to pay for, then that is their choice. Not to mention the fact that this dealership is among those that also charges an additional 2k mark up.
This dealership is shady and scummy and being treated as if I were born yesterday is a disgrace. I cannot complain of the additional mark up but I will ensure that everyone knows of the criminal acts of this dealership scamming customers into paying for worthless add ons that add ZERO value or help "protect the paint" and claim that "many customers actually like it."

Bad expierience. I had a deal for them to come purchase my vehicle. We were arranging the pickup situation because we are in another state, and then that same day I am told they do not honor that price since it has been over 14 days. I told them it has not been 14 days and showed them proof and I am told the policy is 5 days now. "Tell him we can not honor that price, the offers only good for 5 days" was the last message I got. They never gave me this info prior, and I accepted the offer days ago. Simon who is in charge of the used car processes does bad business, and in the end will make the dealership look bad. Be careful this can happen to you too.
