I started attending 160 academy driving school in 7/2022 . I signed up through a program with my job. The case manager who was over my case was very unprofessional and lacked proper communication with me. I had to continually call her to get the important information that I needed. Fast forward to aug ,2022 when I started my yard classes they had about six instructors. At first I was able to attend so regularly until I started having personal problems that caused me to start missing classes. I missed a month and some how my time was still being filled. When I did return to school I had to play catch up , but I wasn’t able to because the started losing instructors and trucks were broke down. So that meant there were too many students to one instructor. What ever I missed I wasn’t able to be updated on. The class requires you to have a certain amount of time on the road, and on Maneuvers. But it was impossible for everyone to get the required time because of lack of trucks and instructors. I constantly told the head instructor that I wasn’t comfortable with taking the test because of the lack of training. He told me to take it anyway I failed the test . I kept telling them I wasn’t ready and I didn’t feel like I was properly trained, they brushed me off and kept making me test knowing I wasn’t ready. I’m not the only person who experienced this problem with them. I plan on taking this further with a lawyer. This company promises to properly train you and guarantee you to get your cdl’s . They just take the money and not keep there end of the contract. Then this last time they wanted me to test I told her I wasn’t ready and she still told me to take the test after I told her I wasn’t comfortable. Because I knew it would be the last time I could take the test. So I didn’t take the test , she sent me an email saying I failed the test and I didn’t show. Knowing I kept telling her I didn’t feel properly trained and I didn’t meet the required hours. This location was in Richmond Va.

I was a cash customer, others paid through programs. They only gave me 3 chances for testing but others got 4. They told me it was because of the method of payment. I feel that it shouldn’t matter the school should have the same set of rules for everyone. Also they were trying to charge additional money for one extra day of practice, 1/4 of the amount of the whole schooling program. They were also blocking my records from me when i was trying to go to another school to get my CDL since they failed me. They were trying to prevent me to get any information to take to the dmv, so ***** can get me in to take driving test and more experience. Also they had instructors who were unprofessional that were yelling towards students and one even threw a ladder because he was upset with some students.

10/01/2022 I enrolled in driving acadamey paid 5000.00 out of pocket expecting to get proper training as advertise by the trainig program this has been the worse experience I ever had they school is under staff no training at all basically taught myself the little knowledge that I do have how ever i failed my first attemp on my driving test due to understaffing and not being trained on all manevaurs. the day before my testing I brought this to the instructor attention and the response was he apologize for being understaff and to try my best when testing this unacceptable and breach of contract. I do not know what to do I may have to choose another school for proper training but they took my money and did not training me properly. This was a scam I am seeking legal advice and I feel im not the only victim.
