  I was arrested at a traffic stop on 09/07/2023, my car was towed to courtesy towing co. due to plate suspension for not showing proof of insurance at the time of the stop. I went to court & proved my insurance at the time of the traffic stop. Judge told me to pay reinstatement fees & he will drop the charges of driving on suspended plates because I already verified my insurance through the states attorney's office. So I did that. The case was closed. Courtesy Towing is still charging me by the day to keep my car. The total is currently $1,700 to get my car out, but they say they will settle for $1,000. A member from the crossing church (Lee *******) agreed to get it out. She tried to write a check to Courtesy Towing, They said cash ONLY & denied her payment. She was upset, says they are in cahoots with each other, they are a scam. CASH ONLY is absurd. Courtesy Towing had told her no checks or cards, CASH ONLY. So I applied for a loan online, The loan company officer that approves the loans had told me that he could write (Courtesy) a check & put a lean on my car with my title, he will call them because he does business with that specific towing company & knows the people that run the place very well, & that they accept checks from Wise Finance all the time. Then I call back Wise Finance to see what has become of this situation. He then told me that If I get a co-signer for my requested loan, then he will continue to process the payment. So, DOES COURTESY TOWING ACCEPT CHECKS or DO THEY NOT ACCEPT CHECKS ??? IS IT LEGAL TO PICK & CHOOSE WHO'S CHECKS YOU WANT TO ACCEPT OR NOT?? HOW IS THIS FAIR?? Was it even legit for my vehicle to get towed in the first place?? I mean I proved my insurance, paid to get my plates unsuspend due to lack of proof of insurance at the time of the stop. They are refusing price adjustments, refusing to allow me to make some kind of payment plan with them, refusing to accept
  a check from my church leader at the crossing (Lee *******)

  Customer's vehicle was towed due to her  plates being   suspended and no proof of insurance also, our policy is  we take cash or certified funds only.  The bill today is $2700.00 and I am willing to take $1000.00.

  This company is FRAUDULENT. I tried to write $1,000 to retrieve my vehicle, Courtesy Towing REFUSED my check, then I tried to use my credit card, also REFUSED my payment. They told me CASH ONLY. I then applied for a loan, loan officer told me that Courtesy Towing ALWAYS accepts checks from their company & that hes good friends with the owner Mike. They do business together quite frequently. The Illinois Compiled Statutes states that: **Any towing or storage charges accrued shall be payable in cash, certified check, debit card, credit card, or wire transfer at the option of the party taking possession of the vehicle. ***Also states that: If prior to the expiration of the impoundment, the citation is DISMISSED or the defendant is found NOT GUILTY of the offense, ?The arresting officer shall authorize the removal of impoundment of the vehicle by the towing service. That being said, my case for this offense has already been dismissed in court. They are STILL REFUSING to return my vehicle to me. They are FRAUDULENTLY keeping my vehicle by law.
