I moved from the city of ******* on March 1, 2024 and had my utilities turned off as of then. I had a 240 deposit on the books. I paid ******* utilities at the end of February of $100 ish. So I only owed the month of February. I got a bill saying I owed 280$ for 1 month. Ive never had my electric bill on my 1 bedroom 1 bath tiny apartment anywhere close to that. It usually ran around $100 in winter and as low as ***** in summer. I called and got a revised bill saying I owed 44$, so I called again bcuz my bill has never been that high in the 5 years Ive lived there. I called again and the hateful lady said my bill for February was around $170, I explained that 100$ I paid in February for ******* was never subtracted from the bill bcuz my utilities have never been even close to 170, even if it were 170 I had a deposit of 240 so I would still be owed some of my deposit back but instead I got another bill for $44. **** at ********* told me today my February bill was 170, so how do I owe any money with a deposit of 240, she told me they werent giving anything back even tho with her own words said I only owed 170, which I dont even believe that but for the sake of argument, I am still owed money and they refuse to pay me any of my very hard earned money back.

The City of Red Bud has provided Mr. *********************** with the same information as provided in the attached document.  **************** has made three payments to the account since November 2023.  All three of these payments have been posted to his account.  In addition, a security deposit in the amount of $240.00 was also applied to this account.  However, the payments made along with the security deposit have not paid the balance in full.  The current balance due as of today is $47.06.  This includes late fees that are being assessed each month due to a balance that remains on the account.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or should additional information be needed.  My email is *******************************.

    *********************, City Superintendent

I just wanted to add addition information. I was able to login into my utilities of ****** account and can see my bill averaged 60-90$ a month. Not only until I call and say Im discontinuing my service due to moving I get a bill for 178$ for 1 month of service, Ive never had a bill that high in the 5 years Ive lived there. Another fact is I did NOT cook there at all so no gas was used and left every single weekend to spend in ******** where my wife lived so no electricity is being used the 4 weekends of the month. The city of ****** might need to have their billing practices looked at. It just seems suspicious that my bill doubled from one month to the next even tho my habits did not change whatsoever and bill doubled only after I called to end my service, just seems really odd.
