Date of Transactions: 5/26/22 + 6/16/22 Total Amount of Money paid to business: $5,000 The business said it would: Install sliding doors for laundry ($800), Water heater replacement ($1950), Window handle repairs ($150), Demolish existing cabinets (no individual price given) + install new cabinets (no individual price given) + plumbing for new appliances (no individual price given) + electrical (no individual price given) + countertop supply & installation (no individual price given). He said he would do everything listed for $12,250. We asked him for an itemized invoice, but he said this was a package price and refused to give us an itemized invoice. Nature of the dispute: After completing three jobs: installing the sliding doors, installing the water heater, and demolishing the kitchen cabinets, the owner of the business abruptly informed us that he is no longer moving forward with the project. This decision was conveyed to us 3 weeks after the kitchen had been demolished, just as we were proceeding with the installation of the new cabinets. When we sought the return of our deposit, it took the business owner another 3 weeks to share a new invoice. This new invoice stated that the cost to demolish the old kitchen cabinets is $1850; the owner then attempted to send us the remaining balance ($400 = $5000 - $800 - $1950 - $1850). We sought clarification on this demolition cost but the owner insisted the price is final and he will not return the rest of our deposit. As our original agreement was for package services which the owner did not complete and choose to terminate, we are seeking a refund. Invoice Numbers: EST044 + INV044
