Date of transaction: 01/19/24 Amount paid to business: $1,605 This business promised to replace my front and rear rotors, brake pads and sensors. The owner *** quoted us a price of $974 for the front rotors, brake pads and sensors including labor. He quoted us a price of $631 for the rear rotors, brake pads and sensors including labor, which totaled to the amount of $1,605. *** relayed to us that he would need to special order the parts because the vehicle required Brembo rotors and brake pads. After the services were completed I requested for a detailed bill of the services rendered to get a better understanding on what I was paying for. After *** wrote down prices on the bill I realized that the prices he wrote werent adding up to the total of $1,605. When arriving home with the vehicle I checked the rotors and brake pads and noticed they were completely different brands than what *** had originally promised when he quoted us. On 1/20/24 I returned to the business to discuss with *** the difference in parts he used to what he had promised us from the beginning. He relayed he had to use a different brand (much cheaper brand) because the original parts he quoted for us were out of stock. Never did *** mention to us during the service or bother to call us and update us that the original parts he quoted us were out of stock and that he would be using a cheaper brand and updating the cost of the service. He never mentioned any of this at the time of transaction, instead he continued to charge us the full amount he originally quoted us without the promised parts. Sensors on our vehicle were still showing they needed to be replaced and when I asked *** about that he stated they didnt change them out, but yet he still charged us for those services as well. I asked *** once more for a much more detailed bill, which he produced, but came back with a completely different price. The new total with the breakdown came to $1,530 compared to the $1,605 we paid originally.
