In July 21-July 26 Of 2022. 4 transactions was made on my chime card totaling in the amount of ******** A B C Auto Parts had charged for installing a brand new engine and trans with 0 miles on it from a tri star warranty company . ************************* owns this vehicle . ABC auto took this vehicle to ******************* to have it programmed. ******************* contacted us to let us know no new engine and trans had been installed . The car is still down . ABC autos long with tri star keeps on passing the ball around and want give us no refund or the engine or trans that was paid for this is high way robbery . We been playing marry go round with them for 2 years still no justice car rentals and all still no justice . The have been in cahoots and ripped my sister and I off please help us to get a full refund and were trying to take this further .I have attached the dear ship evaluation starting no new parts .I have a few receipts to down load please help us!Business Response

********************* purchased a rebuilt engine and transmission for a 2010 ***** equinox having mileage of *******. The manufacturer requires an Original Manufacturer ***** Dealership to reprogram of the Engine control Module and the Transmission Control Module after installation to calibrate the vehicle performance systems. After installation the vehicle was towed to **** Chevrolet in Oak Lawn to complete the successful calibration process. There we no issues or codes at that time proving a properly performing part and a correct installation at the time of program. The vehicle was delivered on Sept 13, 2022.
The ABC Standard Warranty on parts and labor is for a term of 101 days, that warranty ending Dec of 2022.
************ having purchased a remanufactured item has an extended warranty from the manufacturer. The terms, claim process and warranty card were in a packet in the vehicle at pick up. ************ has indicated the owner of the vehicle was *************************.
The Invoice from **** Chevrolet provided by ************ and the vehicle owner ****************, dated February 14 of 2024 indicates that they did not find any tags on the components to verify the reman or new status. However the manufacturer Tri Star did verify the fact and was working with the dealer to honor the warranty. Mileage at that time reading *******. Just a thought, having ****** additional miles on the vehicle is consistent with normal vehicle usage over the 17 month time period.
I spoke to **************** in August of 2024, almost 2 years after our warranty expired, as a courtesy as I know her sister purchased an engine 2 years ago and I understand the process of the manufacturer/warranty company she is dealing with. I have no reason to doubt on what either she or the warranty company says is true. Both **************** and the manufacturer/warranty Company could best inform you of the facts. From what I heard they almost had an agreement on the issue.******************;

I am rejecting this response because: Due to the following ABC auto parts was paid in four installments from July 21 through July 26 of 2022.why did they wait until august 15 through 17 to purchase this engine and transmission? They had the vehicle and the payment in their possession. Notice the manager *** did not contest the fact of the engine and transmission not being brand new. He did not submit any invoices proving the purchase. He did not provide proof of ******************* stating this engine and transmission was new. I provided documentation from ******************* stating there were no new tags on the engine or transmission. ****** and I were told that we were buying a brand-new engine and transmission with 0 miles on it. ****** nor I have never received any information on a warranty. Lashon's engine is leaking fluid and needs a timing belt and is no good. A NEW ENGINE WOULD NOT BE NEEDING A TIMING CHAIN! THE TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING AND SKIPPING ITS NO GOOD.A new transmission would not be needing all of this. Your business has deceived us as a customer and do to these facts we are requesting a full refund due to your deception. ABC auto was made aware of these engine and transmission problems before 2024.They did nothing to correct the issue even after they were made aware that I knew that i didn't get the new engine and Transmision that i purchased. Tri star refused to send me a new engine and Transmision after years of playing around with me. There ends result was they were refusing to warranty parts they believe wasn't there's. They told **** the advisor of ******************* along with us to have ABC autos remove the engine and transmission and send it back to them and they would give me a full refund. We spoke with ABC manager *** regarding this, and he refused to do it. Why? there is the ones who installed it. ABC autos is not honoring their work or commitment to us as a valued customer. We came into their place of business to be serviced. We paid and trusted them! They should be going over and beyond the call of duty to see to it that we are being taking care of instead of having keep going back and forth with a company we are not familiar with who you do business with and did not do enough to please your customer. TRI STAR IS NOT HONORING THEIR WARRANTY OR PARTS. You are aware of this why didn't you intervene on our behalf? As a paying customer I feel *******, mistreated its hurtful to me as a senior citizen to be taken advantage of like this. This is not right! and a shame before God! I am on a fixed income you charged me an awful lot of money for me not to get what i paid for. May i have A refund please! ****** has spent thousands on rentals, A company called ATK ************* in which we both never heard of sent her a check for ****** dollars. They have ABC auto down as the customer how is this? what happen to my name? I called the number on the check they stated ABC autos had been reimbursed for everything. Why haven't we? It's just too much deception and confusion going on Here is a copy of the check and the stub also here is the number of **** at ******************* who can collaborate everything the warranty company has told me. He can be reached at ************ it looks like tri not in the picture anymore. I'm so confused please help us get a full refund please!************

Either ************ or **************** have been in contact with the manufacturer of the engine regarding the engine warranty. The warranty for parts and labor provided by ABC Auto Parts to ************ had expired December of 2022 without issue. The extended warranty for any issues related to the functionality,performance or service of the engine is handled by the manufacturer. **************** during our discussion told me she had had multiple conversations with ******* and has full knowledge of the terms and conditions from the manufacturer/warranty company. ******* has already agreed the engine was one of their units and they were prepared to send the replacement.**************** told me the issue is that the new car dealership she chose to repair her vehicle charges significantly more per hour than the warranty company covers. She wants the warranty company to fully pay all charges, fees and additional costs at the dealership rate.
We have no control over ***********, *************** or TriStar to resolve their issues. And when we declined Ms. ******* attempt to get involved in their dispute she told me someone was going to pay and filed her own BBB compliant ********. An obvious shake down for $20,000. The BBB declined to get involved.
The check appears to be reimbursement for car rental as indicated on the attached letter. Again perhaps a part of the terms of the TriStar warranty.
As stated, the fact is I do not know Ms. ***** knowledge on the issue, but **************** is disputing the coverages in the TriStar warranty,which has nothing to do with ABC Auto Parts.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: may I bring back to your attention ABC Autos response dated on 9/04/2024 in there very first sentence. They stated that I purchased a rebuilt engine and transmission having mileage of *******. These are the exact same mileage that I brought my vehicle in with now how is this possible? It's not. The very next sentence written by ********* states the manufacturer requires an original manufacturer ***** dealership to reprogram of the engine control module and the transmission control module after installation to calibrate the vehicle performance systems. I have attached a statement from **** ***** showing on July ****** my mileage was *******. When ********* brought it into **** ***** on August 30, 2022 the mileage was the exact same *******. *** autos brought it into them to have a transmission control module reprogram only why? If a new engine was installed also? ******** stated to them a new engine and transmission was installed. ***** **** contacted them to let them know there was no evidence of any new installments, and no work was performed By **** *****. There was no reprograming of an engine or a transmission done by ***** ****. I HAVE THE SAME ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION THAT I originally started with UNFORTUNATELY. ***! I am currently on public transportation. My Engine and Transmission is no good. May I please have a full refund in ***** name!

In 2022, ** **** **** purchased an engine and transmission from ABC Auto Parts. We have available options of used engine supplied by ******** Parts which would have a 101 day limited warranty or remanufactured engine supplied by the remanufacturer which has a warranty up to 3 years, ** **** chose a remanufactured engine knowing full well as she stated in her complaint the warranty was through the manufacturer, ********
** **** also chose to have ABC Auto Parts install the remanufactured items she purchased. We stand behind our service 100% for one hundred and one days from the date of delivery. As a step in the repair process it is required to have the engine and transmission control modules calibrated and programed to match the installed items with the vehicle control. As proof of the service and quality of repair find attached the post installation vehicle inspection, program and calibrations which was performed by **** Chevrolet in Oak Lawn, dated 9/06/2022. The dealership identified fuel pressure related issues which needed to be corrected prior to delivery. We replaced the fuel pump on the vehicle and there were no other performance related issues. The vehicle was picked up Sept 13, 2022.
** ***** labor warranty with *** Auto Parts expired in December of 2022. ** ***** invoice dated 2024 from the same **** Chevrolet which did the post repair inspection, identifies some engine related issues which may be covered by her manufacturer warranty. At no time did ABC Auto Parts attempt to negotiate with **. ***** **** Chevrolet or TriStar. ** **** and ** ****** both filed BBB complaints which were closed. I cannot speak to all the conversations ** ****** claims to have had with all the parties involved but I had understood at one time that TriStar had parts on the dock to ship to the dealership. As the issues was explained to me by ** ****** it seems the labor rate charged by the dealership exceeds the labor rate paid by the warranty coverage of the TriStar remanufacturer and the dealership would not accept delivery of the replacement parts until the issue was resolved.
Again this not having anything to do with ABC Auto Parts or our service or our warranty which had expired in December 2022.

I am rejecting this response because: 1st of all, ********* have failed to produce documentation on where this engine and transmission actually came. They mislead us into believing TRISTAR engines and Transmissions were involved and they were out of it initially according to our past communications during this dispute. I will attach this documentation. However, ********* never produced an invoice to you or ME stating the facts of Tri Star involvement. All we seen is paperwork from ********* alleging we agreed on one of their engines with many miles and this wasn't the case and, also How ****** agreed to take her vehicle to another shop to have it repaired on 08/25/2022.we have never seen this paperwork where is the original signature ? why would she agree when it was already in a shop that was paid to do the repairs? .ABC AUTOS HAD Lashons car in their possession from July September 16.2022.Secondly, ********* stated that part of their protocol and procedure is that a new engine and transmission be reprogramed by the manufacturer. Yet, they failed to produce evidence of an engine or transmission being reprogrammed by **** *****. Instead, there invoice on 08/30/2022 only shows a vehicle diagnostic test was performed and paid for in the amount of ****** dollars. ABC AUTOS STATEDTHAT A NEW ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED.
FINALLY. **** ***** stated in the documentation I submitted to you that no work was performed. No reprograming of an engine or transmission. ***** **** also started that there was no evidence of a new engine or transmission so why would they program it? We all know that **** ***** is a reputable business that know their parts. ********* HASNT OFFERED ME AS LITTLE AS AN APOLOGY. They never even explained to me what they meant by calling this a shake down. . I am an old Lady, and I don't even know what that really means. I believe in doing good business and paying what I owe. And you're confusing me now we both can agree that I'm owed a refund. **** ***** never saw any evidence of a new engine or transmission nor did they reprogram any one of them. You never presented proof of you buying them. MAY I PLEASE HAVE A FULL REFUND. BBB CAN YOU PLEASE ASSIST WITH ME BEING REFUNDED.
