We were sold a ***** traverse by *************************** and *****************. They told us the down payment would be $2500. When we test drove the truck we noticed the A/C did not work and the check engine light was on, when we addressed these issues **** informed us the the check engine light was because someone had stolen the Cadillac converter the night before but reassured us that if we were interested in buying the truck he would have that replaced with a new one and would also fix the A/C. We agreed to pay half of the down payment and return with the the rest once those problems were resolved. **** called us and let us know the truck was ready. We requested to test drive the truck again before payment. We then noticed the check engine light was still on so we took it to a near by auto zone to get it scanned. A code for a damaged Cadillac converter showed. We took the truck back and showed both *** and ****. Thats when **** admitted to replacing the Cadillac converter with a straight pipe. We expressed how uncomfortable we were with buying a truck without the Cadillac converter and the check engine light being on. *** then told us since we live in ******** we dont have to worry about passing an admissions test and if we move out of ******** we can just lie about our address because she does it for her family all the time. *** continued to reassure us if we take the truck she will order a new Cadillac converter and have the A/C fixed within 30 days. None of what they promised to fix was taken care of. We had the truck for less then 90 days and it broke down. We have called and texted both *** and **** almost everyday to get these issues resolved and requested to speak to the owner every time and was denied. We did really like the truck and tried being understanding and working with them just for it all to end up being a scam. I was sold a truck with no Cadillac converter and now we are out of both a truck and over $3000.
