In June I went to affordable dentures to start a process for implants and full set of dentures Started procedure that same month which takes several months. I was to receive 4 implants on the top and 2 on the bottom and had to pay upfront for the whole procedure upfront before they started, Got implants put in and when they went to do impression to make the teeth the implant on the top came out, Was told that couldn't put that implant back in that day would have to wait for it to heal some When I went back to get the implant put in and get my teeth was told that I didn't need the implant but did receive my teeth Ask about a refund for the implant and was told they don't do refunds but would put it in my file that if i needed one at a later time it would be put in for free I told them I should be given a refund as what if I go through life and never need it then I would just be out about 1500 dollars I don't have money to just throw away and I feel I should be given a refund and if I need an implant I would just pay for it at that time

Implants were placed on 06/7/2023.  Four upper and two lower along with 17 extractions and temps were delivered.  On 10/19/2023 she had the implants uncovered and when they took impressions for her finals, that's when an implant came out.  Dr. told her that he would replace it at n/c in about 6-8 weeks.

Her final dentures were delivered on 12/05/2023.  She had an appt on 01/11/2024 to replace rfi but she rescheduled to 02/01/2024.  At that appt she stated that everything was fine and she has no problem with the dentures.  Dr. told her that we can replace the rfi at n/c whenever she wanted it done.

As per the consents that she signed, it states that there is no guarantee of implant success.

I have attached her implant consent form with her initials and as well as Dr. **********

I am rejecting this response because: I do not agree with the reply from affordable dentures. when I went back to supposedly get my implant replaced I was informed by the Dr that I did not need that implant put in and if further down the road i would possibly would and he would put it in at no charge. There was a charge I paid for all this upfront so why should they be able to charge me for a implant that I don't have. IF I'm told I didn't need it later why did u put it in in the first place. Yes I was gave a form to initial buy I don't find that is fair either as u r just getting ur teeth put in. How do u know I'd they are fine or not. They take some getting used to so that paper should not even be given to patients. I Feel u do this as u don't trust u own work and just try to get them to sign off on it . I still feel I am due a refund on this implant that don't exist in my mouth. The dentist was the one that said I didn't need it but maybe down the road so I feel I was scammed from the very beginning.

    Sincerely,

Per the patient while in the chair on Feb 1, 2024, Dr. offered to replace the implant and patient stated the denture fit fine with the three implants she has in her mouth currently.  Dr. still stands on his word that he will replace the one implant  at n/c to her.  Upper dentures require four implants to most people due to soft bone, the fact that she is able to retain the denture is a good thing.  We do not place implants that are not necessary or over charge and mislead patients.

I am rejecting this response because:no he said that he was not going to put in the other implant on my last visit as my teeth fit snug. I asked about a refund at this time and he said he would put it in my file that down the road if I needed a implant added he would do it free if charge. What if I would die and never needed another implant that means I paid money fir something I didn't get and in my case that will be what happens as I was not given alot of time to live and I don't need teeth to fit snug when I'm gone

    Sincerely,

This is the final response, read your consent where it sates we can not guarantee the success of the implant.  When your dealing with any medical device, such as an implant and the human body, success is not guaranteed and rejection may occur, thankfully not very often.  This is not a off the shelf product, this is a medical device surgically placed in bone optimally.  To give you a simpler understanding of an example , if a Dr is to replace any organ and it fails the Dr does not give a refund as it is the patients body that is rejecting whatever the unknown reason may be.

I am rejecting this response because:
It wasn't a rejection from my body it was the implant was not properly put in.I don't believe it was in there deep enough or big enough as this is the same one he changed sizes in a couple different time when he was putting it in. Also my bottom teeth will not properly stay in my mouth as they rock back and forth

I had upper and lower dentures fitted by ********************* on 2020 and purchased a 7 year contract/warranty. I had requested 4 posts for the lower dentures but ************** only placed 2 posts, without discussing this change in teh treatment plan with me first. There were issues with the fit of the lower dentures that required several visits back to ************** for re-fitting and repair. At my last visit to his office on 6/12/23, I was informed by ************** that he would perform only 1 more correction to the lower dentures and beyond that, I was no longer welcome in his office and he would not do any additional denture repairs. I believe this breaks the contract I signed with his office and I am looking to be reimbursed for the cost of the contract/warranty that was remaining. I am also still needing the lower plate to be corrected so that the dentures fit appropriately - I am unable to use the lower dentures due to improper fit.

I am attaching copies of the patient's ledger, Tx Plan and receipt's.  I will be emailing you copies of the consents that she signed as well along with the dismissal letter we sent him.  Patient paid for F/F NDWP ULT w/ 4/2 RFI.  He feels that he paid for 4 lower implants, in which he did not.  He has been complaining about this ever since we completed his final dentures.  I have tried multiple times to explain and show him copies of what he approved and paid for and he refused to acknowledge or understand that we provided all the services he paid for.  Lastly, he is verbally abusive to all my staff and myself whenever he comes in, he is stating that paid he for 2 additional lower implants, in which we keep telling him that he did not.  We completed his treatment on 01/25/2021.  He has He acts like we owe him something, we do not, not will I expose my staff or myself to his verbally abusive behavior.  He has been dismissed as a result, and I will never see him again in my office.  The dismissal is directly a result of his abusive behavior on the phone and in person.

If you have any more question, please feel free and give me a call.

I am rejecting this response because: I would like to stick to my original plan, to get my lower plate fixed that they messed up, and get paid for the two years he broke the contract. I have yet to wear my bottom plate since the incident at Affordable Dentures. I believe he is also trying to blame me for the mistake.

    Sincerely,

Good day. Despite ****************** objection, the doctor/patient ************ has been terminated as of June 12, 2023.  As such, the office is unable to provide further services to ***************  His dentures had been repaired for him a no charge, and they were retrieved by ************** on June 14, 2023.  There have been prior repairs.

It is worth noting that the reason for the termination of the doctor/patient ************ is related to his behavior in the practice.
