    I recently had my Mother cremated at this place. The cost was around $1400. When you fill out the form you have the option to have them take hair clippings of the deceased. Well, I did request hair clippings & even paid an additional fee for that. The desire to have the hair clippings was also discussed on the phone. Well, I get my mother's ashes back & there are no hair clippings. I called them to ask about it & I was informed that **** who is the owner & the one who did the cremation 'forgot' to take the hair clippings & it sounded like an oops moment. Then I learned **** asked the funeral home to inform me there were no hair clippings instead of JSR Cremation informing **** called back there today and spoke with someone named *** I believe & told him how unacceptable & unprofessional this was. He said there is a control sheet to go by before cremation so apparently **** disregarded that & just cremated my mother. Do you know how devastating this is for me? That hair would have been the last real thing of her that I had & now it's gone. *** said he would tell **** about my call & I have not heard anything since. I even requested all my money back. This was uncalled for, very disrespectful, unacceptable & unprofessional. ****** 'oops' moment cost me the last real thing I would have had of my mother along with a lot of heartache & devastation. I am at a loss. I cannot get over the fact that this 1 important detail was forgotten when there is a control sheet to go by & also the owner himself of all people doing the cremation should know what to do beforehand. If one of his employees had done this, they would be in trouble but because it was the owner I felt like it was a 'sorry but not sorry' type of thing. Very disappointing. I have been sick to my stomach over this. My pain & suffering over her loss is horrendous & now this little 'oops' makes it even worse. There is no excuse for what was done.

    There is no excuse for the missed hair clippings, but you are correct we missed that small detail, and we know this is devastating to you. We put efforts in place to assure this never happens, but in this case it did. We admit to the error. There are many details that go into the entire cremation process and there are many aspects of the cremation we provided that were hopefully above expectations. One mistake makes the entire experience a bad one. However, we don't feel the misstep is worth an entire refund as we did perform the work required to complete the cremation. We will be better at our communication as well and will be reaching out with some type of restitution that we deem respectful. We will do better to help families in the future and learn from our mistake in this case.

    I am rejecting this response because: you 'little' error was not little, it was HUGE. A detail like that should not have been left out if there is a control sheet aka checklist to follow. Yes, you completed the cremation process but that little oops was very devastating & unprofessional by all means. I did not even have any communication from the owner to even apologize for HIS mistake. I don't expect a full refund but for my pain & suffering I should get at least half back. I will never have that little piece of my Mom which would have been the last real thing I would have had of her & now it's gone forever because someone namely THE OWNER failed to follow his own protocol. Very unprofessional, very devastating & very uncalled for.
