We are a medical providers office who submits claims for reimbursement to this insurance company. This is the primary insurance for MOST school districts in our area. They say there are no Physical Therapy visit limit, BUT after a random amount of visits will just stop sending payment. When calling customer service- they say "we're waiting on documentation for a medical review". Which they haven't communicated that they are conducting... OR an *** will come and say "complete letter and submit for review". BUT no letter ever comes... If you call customer service, they say "no letter is on file". Their "review" process takes anywhere from 6 months to a year. 99% of the time they deem services NOT medically necessary. Even post surgical patients etc. We submit letters of medical necessity to connect the dots for them, give tests showing why PT is relevant, even get the MD to write letters of MN, but they always deny. They say "this study in 1943 showed........ Patient should be released to HEP". JUST RIDICULOUS. I've reached out to school districts, i've encouraged patients to speak to their employers... How this insurance is still around is beyond me. I feel bad for the members who have to pay for everything out of pocket.
