Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against **** ******* and Unbreakable Bond Dog Training regarding a concerning experience I have had as a customer. My name is ***** ******, a Vietnam veteran, and I believe I have been taken advantage of in this ************ the beginning of September 2024, I made a payment of $875 to Mr. ******** which was the first half of the total payment for dog training services. Despite fulfilling all of Mr. ******** requests, including submitting two separate worm tests for my puppy, he has consistently refused to schedule any training sessions. Every Wednesday evening, he assured me that he would pick up the puppy for training, but this has yet to happen. This past Tuesday, after repeated attempts to get him to begin the training as agreed, Mr. ******* informed me that he now requires the remaining balance of the payment before starting any training sessions. This demand for full payment upfront is especially disappointing, given that I originally received Mr. ********* business card from a pet store called ************* where either an employee or the owner vouched for the credibility of Unbreakable Bond Dog Training.I am left questioning whether this is a legitimate business or a scam, as the business has not upheld its end of the agreement despite receiving a substantial payment from ***** a veteran, I expect businesses to operate with integrity and honor their commitments. I am requesting the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter and hold Unbreakable Bond Dog Training accountable for their failure to provide the services promised. Please let me know if additional information or documentation is needed to assist in this complaint.Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.Sincerely,***** ******

Please find the attached screenshots of mine and ***** Burtons text conversation below. The last text was from 10/22/25 (two days prior to his complaint which is odd), and after that I could no longer reach him by phone. Everything was setup for me to pickup his dog, then he completely went off the grid. I called the local pet supply store that recommended me to see if he had stopped in at all, and they said they havent seen him since the day they referred him to me.

I am rejecting this response because:I went to the store the day he was to pickup (bear)my puppy & he didn't show up. He text me & ask me if I could bring (bear)my dog to him. I said yes and asked for the address. I never heard from him again. I & my military liaison which helped me to get in touch with the Chicago bbb have all the original text. He can lie and add whatever  new text he wants!!!!!!!!!!

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******

      Business Response

      Date: 03/31/2025

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea how to respond to the complaint from ***** ******. I am surprised he responded at all, as I havent been able to get in touch with him in any way, shape or form as i mentioned to ****** **** over the phone a few weeks ago. I have uploaded a few screenshots of text messages to give a better idea of the mindset of this gentleman, as well as a screenshot that directly addresses the statement he most recently made.

He stated he went to the pet store that initially referred him to me, and that i was supposed to take his dog with me from there directly to begin training. That was not at all the plan and he was aware of that. There was a customer appreciation day going on at that store (Pet Paradise Supermarket located in *************, **, the owner of which can be contacted to attempt to make sense of some of this) and i specifically told Mr. ****** that ***I would do my best to show up that day to meet his puppy, but that I couldnt make any promises, as it was a busy day for me. It was a casual thing, where he was seemingly planning to go anyway, and that I would be heading that way if I could get away for an hour or two. But again, that was just to meet him and his dog informally. Training was NOT scheduled to begin that day.***

The texts I have from Mr. ****** are all over the place and some are very hard to follow, but I have attached the most relevant screenshots to his most recent response. Im not sure what to do about this one. He is still welcome to call me to move forward with the training he initially planned on doing prior to stopping all contact. Both numbers I have for him are also now out of service, so I have no way to reach him. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.
