  I am rejecting this response because: 

       I have hired another contractor to do the job but do wish to respond to Mr. ********** assertions. As is clearly set forth on the contract attached to my original complaint, a 20% deposit was to be paid to American Foundation after it obtained the permit. I called Mr. ******** several times to get a status on the permit and he never told me the City of **** **** wanted drawings from a structural engineer. On one occasion Mr. ******** told me he had to speak with a structural engineer, but he never told me why, and never got back to me. When I called again, Mr. ********** brother told me he had to pull the file; that he thought the permit delay had something to do with a plumber; and he would get back to me. He never called me back. I again called, left a message with an employee who promised someone would immediately get back to me, but no one did. If Mr. ******** was no longer interested in the job he should have just come out and told me long ago and not wasted my entire spring and summer chasing him down.   ll an associate answered the phone and I was told he would definitely have **** or ***** ******** call me before 6pm. No one called me back. I checked the City of Wood **** online portal, and American Foundation appears to have never even tried to pull a permit. I would like to have the work started and completed. Thank you.

  He has never given me a deposit check.
  
  The Village require structural engineer drawings.
  
  He will not pay for them. He wants me to pay for everything.
  
  I told him I need a deposit check or he can go apply for the building permit himself.
  
  We need a building permit to start work. He does not want to pay for it.
  
  Please ask him to send you a copy of the check for the deposit. He has not done that yet.
  
  If you want this work done, he needs to go get a building permit himself and pay for it. We are not going to pay.
