    On Friday April 21,2023 my **** Explorer 2014 steering Wheel was locked. I took it to **************** where they did a diagnosis and found out the rack and pinion was bad. They gave a me quote whereby i felt it was too high. i then searched for other auto shop on ****** and call Meineke. towed the vehicle there where he gave me a quote of $1948.38, i asked the rep ******** why was the cost so high he told me because the vehicle is a **** vehicle the parts are more expensive he then told me i could look it up on line for myself that i did. he requested my permission to start the repair i told yes. after picking up my vehicle a few days later while driving the vehicle i noticed there is a rubbing sound so i informed the shop and they have me return the vehicle three times. the 3rd time they said the vehicle was ok and its because its new. i replied no i'm not convinced.i took it back **** for another Diagnosis $178.00 which i did they said a rubber in the steering shaft is broken. i called Meineke and told them as promised and ******'s response was we had nothing to do with that we just fixed the rack and pinion. i went back to **** where i spoke with the manager and the tech. this is when i found out it was a fake defective part and not a **** part which is why its not working with the other **** parts in my **** Explorer instead damaging them(he called the cops twice) the police office even called another meineke to confirm the part number he gave was also fake. now he refused to take out the fake part out of my vehicle or give a refund and repair the shaft that is currently being damaged by this fake part. please i need your help thanks

    Hello, this is the Manager at Meineke Car Care #*** responding to this complaint. This vehicle was brought in on a tow truck and not in driving condition. We diagnosed this vehicle, when we started the car the steering was hard to turn side to side. Our top tech said that the problem for the tighten of the steering was due to a bad electronic rack & pinion. We then reach out to the customer with pricing about service and she agreed to get the vehicle serviced here at our location. When we finished servicing the truck the customer was called in to pick up her vehicle as well as every other customer of ours. Customer then brought her vehicle in some days later and said that she here's a noise in her steering wheel, which we did not service or diagnose which we looked over the work that we serviced on her truck. A couple of weeks ago the customer came to our location looking for a tech that use to work here by his name and was told that he didn't work here any longer. Customer than begin yelling about her car not being fix correctly outside and inside of the office to our location, which she also had a small child with her. Customer stayed at the location until after closing time and didn't want to leave the office, so law enforcement was called and before they came she left and sat in her vehicle. The police ask what did we want to do and the answer was to just clear her from the office for closing. Customer called from **** and someone spoke with them and the told her that the issue with her car was not part of the rack & pinion and the part was new in box. She then came to the office the next day and bad mouth our business in front of everybody. the issue that she has told her car has nothing to do with the work we've done and that is what was told to the customer. only thing we fix was the rack & pinion.     I paid to get front end suspension work but they wrote everything up as rear suspension work. I need a valid receipt for warranty purposes.

    On September 30th, 2022 i had my vehicle towed to Meineke for lack of brake usage. The mechanic required a diagnostic which required him to remove the brake line system in efforts to rule out contamination. Upon my diagnostic test, the mechanic recommended that i do brakes, brake lines, calibers and rotors. Because I had limit funds, I approved him to only do the brake lines declining all the other services. He agreed and told me my car be done by the end of the day that he was starting on the car. He later called back stating that he couldn't do the lines without doing the calibers. I then let them know if he to get my truck. I was forced to have ********************************* pay (via Zelle) the diagnostic fee of $90 which i gave her in cash. I was unaware of it until I crashed my truck into my wooden gate at home. The damage door caused my alarm to continue going off until the battery dies and can't start car do to the issue

    I took my **** Chevrolet Impala on Saturday August 27. Was advised that I needed a resonator for exhaust and my radiator was split on the bottom. I agreed to also have 4 struts replaced total cost *******. I spent the entire day although they did offer me a ride home. While I appreciate the mechanic working overtime to complete the work; transmission coolant lines were connected to new radiator improperly. I called ****** Monday 9/28/22 only to be told to call back. This car is my transportation to and from work on Monday 9/19/22 I had to have aaa tow vehicle back to south suburbs from *********** ** while driving car began smoking I pulled into gas station only to discover transmission lines were completely disconnected from radiator

    I took my vehicle in because one of throttle light came on. Later, they called to confirm my suspensions and quoted me a price. The representative (****) stated that but there's a problem, your check engine light is now on. I asked why is this. He said he does not know and put the "owner" on the phone. I explained to the "owner" that I will not pick up my vehicle until they fix whatever is wrong. He said sometimes we fix a problem and then another one shows up. I said, my check engine light was not on when I came in and I refuse to drive my vehicle with it on. The owner, said he did not give a f.ck, and who in the h*** am I to him what to do and hung the phone up in my face. They still have my car and I am afraid of them now.
