Company did not provide service at the agreed dates, provided insufficient untrained staff, took four days to complete one day job incorrectly, attempted to correct problems with roof repair a couple of times and then decided they would send partial reimbursement check that has not been received. Do not recommend this company. Roofers were drinking Corona and sleeping on roof without ******* two hours after arriving three hours late for one day job.

Our company has gone above and beyond for this customer. The contract for both roofing and gutters was signed 07/12/2024, a color selection for the metal was not made until a couple of days later by the customer. Our wait list for roofing is typically 6-8 weeks. This customer had a pest control issue, her attic was infested with bats. We were sympathetic to her situation, so we made adjustments to get her bumped up on our schedule to 4 weeks. Unfortunately, a work truck broke down on the way to the job site prohibiting the crew from arriving on time. Our ******* was at the job site on time, along with materials. This was an extremely labor-intensive job as old rink shank nails were being pulled from the exiting metal. The homeowners husband was intoxicated and verbally assaulting the crew members making racial slurs (screaming at them for taking breaks). The heat was excessive, and several breaks are required so crew members do not get over heated. I was called multiple times from the crew that ******* husband was screaming at them using profanity and was very intoxicated. I contacted our project manager and explained the situation at hand, we agreed it was best that he took the job over himself. The roof was then installed to customer satisfaction, unfortunately this did not resolve the customers pest control problem with the bats in her attic. We made 5 trips back out to her residence to try and figure out where the bats could possibly still be getting in. We are not a pest control company, and we did our best to help. ***** hired ******* pest control to install a screen, damaging the ridge cap(this compromised the integrity of our roofing system). ***** then requested a customer credit of $1500. I was sympathetic to the situation, so after discussion with my staff and much thought, along with a text message received from the customer October 8th pretty much insinuating that if I did not issue her the $1500 credit, she would most likely be leaving a bad review. We thought this issue was resolved; it is absolutely absurd to be disputing the amount of $13,000. It would be rather uncomfortable for crew members to be sleeping on a 10/12 pitch metal roof in the hot sun. We were not mad aware of any "Corona bottles" on site until the customer was requesting $1500. I will be forwarding all communication over to our attorney pertaining this matter.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:

JS agreed to drop off color samples at my house the same day the contract was signed. I have emails explaining this, however something came up on JS end and they werent able to drop off samples as scheduled. I called and emailed with my color selection as soon as samples were made available. The only reason we decided on JS for new roof was because they explained due to the urgency of us having bats in our attic and needing a new roof they could get roof done within a couple of weeks of contract being accepted. The date for new roof installation kept being postponed due to JS not being able to get the roof material due to a manufacturing delay. When the roofers finally showed up for job they were hours late and took nap on attached garage roof in shade two hours after arriving not on house roof in sun with 10/12 pitch.******* continued to leave multiple times for great lengths of time. I contacted ** to make them aware of issues. They apologized and admitted they were embarrassed and their crew was not acting acceptable. The job was supposed to be completed in one day. Half of the original roof was not even removed the first day. Second day crew returned and were not installing roof correctly, not using correct tools and not installing all the required parts. My husband who has been a ********* in the ********* Union for *********************************************************************************************************************************************************** one day the day before and he was observing the incorrect installation and tried explaining to crew how to do it correctly. Crew became argumentative and angry and a ******* was not even present this entire ****** husband is entitled to have a beer at his own home on a Saturday. My husband contacted the project manager **** and **** came to our house next day on a Sunday and personally apologized to me and my husband and admitted that crew had never installed a metal roof before and agreed it was being installed incorrectly and took it upon himself to be here to personally to install roof and supervise crew. My husband showed **** ****** bottles and told him about crew drinking on job and **** apologized. This matter was mentioned a second time to J S with ****** because apparently she was not made aware of it after it was mentioned to ****.The one day job took four days. The whole point of the new roof was to resolve bat issues. The bats were still getting in and out of ridge cap of new roof. ** returned three times and attempted to fix ridge cap. The crew was not able to successfully fix gap. There is a gap where ridge cap is not flush as needed and that is the problem and if it was installed correctly the gap would not be there. A second company was hired to install ridge guard due to gap in ridge cap. I explained the situation to ****** after she finally called me back at the scheduled day and time for phone call after a few times scheduling to call and not calling as planned. She explained she would not be able to warranty roof due to screws in ridge cap , but would mail a check for $1500 to our house address in next couple of weeks over a phone call. I sent her a follow up email confirming agreement and never received reply or check. ****** also explained that the crew that worked on our roof no longer is employed there due to their poor job performance. After not receiving email reply or check Im exhausted trying to deal directly with ****** which is why I filed complaint with BBB. ****** called me directly after receiving BBB complaint asking me to send her my attorneys contact information. I explained in a previous email that I was trying to settle issue out of court. Not sure why she decided to contact me directly instead of replying back to BBB as good etiquette? All I wanted and need is for her to follow through with agreement to send $1500 check in agreed timeframe for ridge guard to fix $13,000 incorrectly installed roof . I have emails, texts and contracts if they are needed to be provided I am more than willing to provide them.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ********

    *****,

Considering I had believed this situation was handled it wasn't inappropriate to call you from our office phone number to ask for your attorney's number, $13,000 is a huge difference from $1,500. You not only filed a complaint here, but you bashed us online after we went above and beyond for you. We are not pest control. You had pest control make alterations to our roofing system without consulting us on if it would affect the warranty on the roof. I have sent you a request via email for your attorney's information so we can handle this in small claims court. Material was purchased for your roof; labor was provided and there have been several extra trips out your home that surpassed $13,000. You had an outside company come and make modifications to the roofing system to get the bats out that we would have recommended against. We will not be issuing a refund of $13,000.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:

JS agreement was to mail a check for $1500 to our house within a couple of weeks from October 16th. You did not mail a check nor reply to the email regarding it. If you are still able to follow through as agreed upon that would be settled. As discussed the ridge guard would not have been necessary if there was not a gap in the ridge cap. Nobody referred to JS as a pest control company, you are roofers and we hired you to install a roof correctly and timely and this turned out to be unsuccessful.
If the check was received or at least mailed or an explanation for the status of agreement was provided this complaint would not have been filed.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ********

In July of this year I hired JS & Son's Construction to put a roof on my house and garage. However, they have not finished the job. *************************, the owner has become very hateful and rude in text messaging and keeps rescheduling within 10 minutes or less of the time they are supposed to be here. Then I have not heard back from her. I 've rescheduled once.  I went to the website for the ******************* of ********* and Professional Regulations and it stated that license # ********* - status inactive. They also did not use the install drip edge on some parts of the roof and my shingles are popping up when the roof isn't even 2 months old.

Customer's job was done  to satisfaction.  This was a job through insurance.  Customer has a balance due and we are licensed bonded and insured.   There was  heat advisory and I can not have the people that work for me work in those conditions.

They do not have Active license nor have they had active license and almost a year I have been threatened by the owner to get an attorney, the owner has also put on ********* which is open to the public that I was fraudulently making insurance claims which is false. My insurance company has a full report, I have had to hire an attorney due to the lack of work and effort from the owner *********************** she claims she subcontracted my house out is what she told my insurance company which is false, have three tires that have Nails and them after my insurance company had paid for a thorough cleanup, which was not done. I do have videos of all of this , my front camera is still unhooked and had no reason to be unhooked since July 31 when they did the roofing job. Not once am I satisfied regarding their job there has been three other companies here to give estimates on what its going to cost to fix/repair , their crappy job and attorney has been hired on my behalf, and the list goes on and on and on! Myself and my insurance company has asked for an itemized list that was sent to RP lumber, and we have not gotten other than receipts! They just put up new boards about their business in *******, ******** when their business is not licensed as I have all the proof that she tried to say *********************** that my house was subcontracted and that is not the truth, ****** was here on scene two different occasions, who works for JS and son Construction He is not a subcontractor by any means he has no license to do anything in the field that she claims
