      I had a service call on 2024-10-31 to replace a broken toilet flange. The price charged for a steel repair plate, a few screws, a wax seal and a toilet install was $395 (about 0.5 hours of work). However, a day later I noticed sewer gas leaking between the toilet and the floor. I wanted to make sure so waited a few days to verify this. Knowing that I could not afford to have them back out to replace the broken toilet flange, I ended up removing the toilet and the steel repair plate to be able to get a seal between the toilet and the floor. I got a picture of the installed repair plate and the issue when I removed the toilet. There is a screw hole in the front of the plate that did not have a screw in it because it would have gone into the drain pipe. However, this hole was not sealed and was allowing sewer gas into my bathroom. Since they did attempt to fix my problem, I believe that they are entitled to the $49 service call fee. However, since the repair did not fix my problem I am requesting a refund of the rest of the fee charged ($395 - $49 = $346).
