    This St. ******* IL based travel company solicits for European and other far away places, but the trips only occur if there are enough sign **** so they are speculative trips. My ******** signed up for a speculative trip in Oct for *****, but in March we saw it was not that solid of a trip so we cancelled March 27. We had a horrific time getting our $1,000. Deposit back n it finally showed up in the mail May 30th after we were treated with disdain for over 2 months by InterTrav for requesting our money back. They acted as if they were doing us a great, great favor for giving us our deposit back on a speculative trip not totally set because of a lack of participants. They claim they have a NO REFUND policy, but it was not spelled out on the deposit form when we sent in the $1,000 but it was on another form so it was an obvious trick by InterTrav to conceal their no refund policy. We demanded n threatened to *** and filed a complaint w the IL ********************* so our deposit came back some 64 days after we requested it. I am a disabled senior and a repeat customer of **********************, so for this to happen to us was sickening n disheartening, but we did get our deposit back finally after a tussle n a hassle n a tremendous amount of aggarvation, so beware of InterTrav in ****************** as a travel agency and their aggressive n greedy NO REFUND policy that is for their benefit only and not their potential travel customers.

    As you mention, this is not your first vacation with InterTrav, so you should be aware of the below cancellation policy, which is prominent on the Tour Conditions page (CAPITALIZED and bolded) of the tour brochure from which you signed up.CANCELLATION: If after making your initial deposit you find it necessary to cancel from the tour for any reason, there is a cancellation charge equal to the per person deposit up to 90 days prior to departure.The cancellation policy is in line with standard industry cancellation policies and InterTrav is a member in good standing with both the Better Business Bureau and the **************** of ****** Advisors (ASTA), the worlds leading association of travel professionals.When you initially called indicating that you were thinking of cancelling, our staff made mention that the deposit is non-refundable, which caused you to have second thoughts regarding cancelling. Ultimately, you made the decision to cancel, and we received your cancellation in writing, along with the demand that the $1,000 be applied to a future trip. Before we had an opportunity to respond to this email, we received your telephone call with further demands.After your threat on ********* the Tour Organizer, *************************, responded that a full refund would be sent. While InterTrav had no obligation to send a refund, based on our relationship with ****************, we agreed to do so and the refund was mailed in a timely manner refunds can typically take up to 90 days to be processed.The Viva Espana tour is operating as scheduled, and your claim that the group is speculative is not accurate. We strongly advise that travelers purchase ****** Protection, which you chose not to purchase although in this case your claim would likely have been denied as your cancellation was voluntary.InterTrav has copies of the Reservation Application you completed, deposit check, emails, and voice transcripts from telephone calls, should you like to have supporting documentation with regard to what truly transpired.InterTrav has been in business for over 60 years providing exceptional tours and service to many thousands of travelers, many, if not most, of whom are repeat travelers. Unlike most other travel companies, we pride ourselves on fairness and flexibility regarding our travelers who find it necessary to cancel, and were sorry you had an experience so completely out of the ordinary. We are also honestly surprised that you continue to slander InterTrav after we made an exception based on our relationship and respect for ****************.
