I waited 6 weeks to have my car repaired and returned to me for stalling and not starting on July 18th. After posting 420 dollars I picked up my car and it started right up. I drove car less than 8 hours before it once again broke down. This time the car broke down a bridge in rush hour traffic. I was forced to cross a busy bridge on foot with no sidewalk or walkway. I was told my car needed a battery and was out of gas when service was preformed. The new battery is now completely depleted of power and the car was in fact not out of gas but was nearly full. The shop claim the gas gauge was broken but it is in perfect working order. In short I was given a vehicle that was not in working order but rather thrown together after waiting over a month to get service and then waiting another week to get vehicle back because according to the mechanic on duty " they forgot it was there". After weeks of patience and being nothing but positive with my local mechanic I now have the same problem I had before. I'm a single parent and now hand no money to get my vehicle properly repaired. The shop spent time finding other problems with my car that I did not need to know about seeing as how the car is not drivable. I would like my money returned for a service I did not receive.

This letter is in response to complaint # ********, a ** **** ***** with a **** ***** having a starting and dying problem. To begin with no one likes the fact that he had to wait 4 weeks to get an appointment and on top of that it was all on us that we did not get to it in a timely manner. At first inspection we discovered that the smaller starting battery for the ICE (Internal combustion engine) was completely dead. It was removed, made easier by no hold downs, charged and tested. At a voltage of 12.4 it only had 43 Cold cranking amps. making it not a usable battery. We installed a **** 9851P battery, the recommended AGM battery for that car with the website posted list price. After the installation the car would crank over but not even attempt to start. The fuel gauge did show 3/4 of a tank but with no service port to test fuel pressure we did a quick and easy listen to see if the fuel pump was even running. It was but sounded very loud. We quickly poured 2 gal. of fuel in the tank and it started and just as quickly died which was the other problem he was having. At this point with battery voltage we were able to access the car's ECM to look for possible clues, it had 3 service codes, P0100-MAF sensor, P1430- component in EVAP system, and a ****** factory code P3191. Not being familiar with this particular code we did a quick search of our data base and found ****** service bulletins trying to explain best practices for process of elimination to get to the problem, we already had a code for the mass air flow sensor so that is where we started. The sensor was a little dirty but what we discovered was that the throttle body was very dirty. After cleaning it, preforming a reset and relearn, the engine started and stay running. At that point we checked the charging to the ICE battery, 13.7 volts and the HV battery, it was at 65% at that time. Fron there we ventured a test drive, which is when we heard the bad wheel bearing and on return the inspection of the wheel bearing reviled the thin brakes. After the test drive we rechecked for service codes, all three returned so at this point *** ***** was contacted as to where we were and asked if he wanted us to move forward to find the root cause of the problems, he declined. To this point the only reason I know *** ***** was having having a problem is the contact from the BBB. At the bottom of our repair order it states that as a **** Auto Repair Center we provide a standard warranty of 2 years or 24,000 miles. He has not responded to a call or returned a call from a message left. We have been in this community since 1988 and been in business since 1949, not perfect but stand behind our work. If *** ***** would like to purchase his own battery I would be happy to replace it and return mine. I feel we were very generous with the work we preformed and the hour labor he was billed. Thank you for your time.
