I hired the Painting Doctor to paint my interior walls of my house around March 16th. The contractor informed me that he could also install my new flooring. He told me he would install it himself but his experienced brother would assist him. I used this contractor because he is bonded, licensed, and insured and his website also lists that he installs flooring. My floor is cracked, curling, and the transitions were done incorrectly. They charged me extra for the floor boards to be removed, which was never done. Once I called them out on that, I eventually received $500 back after a month of fighting for it. I had to fill out a contract in order to get the money back, which now theyre refusing to give me a copy of it. After the contract was signed, I was informed that the contractor I hired does not install flooring, but subcontracted an individual who they will not provide me with his name. I was lied to and do not even know if the contractor is even legit. Prior to signing the contract, I asked for a refund, which was refused by the contractor. He informed me that they wont give me a refund, but can come fix it. I did not want them back in my house after I had been shown the poor quality of work. I had spent extra money on additional boxes of flooring because they cut the vinyl plank flooring incorrectly and damaged multiple boxes of flooring. I eventually refused to buy more since I had gotten extra boxes in the first place so they used scrap to finish the job. I am extremely disappointed in the job. I had a new highly recommended contractor come look at my flooring and was informed that everything has to be redone due to the poor work because he is afraid of it buckling and reported the corners are peeling already. I had to buy all new material. I am aware that I signed a contract, but I signed that before I was given the full story and also in order to receive the $500 that I was owed for the floor boards. The contractor will no longer return my calls/texts.
