      Roto rooter was contacted and an appointment was scheduled. A plumber came to my residence for a sewer pump not working. The plumber plugged the pump in said it was working and left charging me ****** dollars. I then had to contact the company again 2 more time to let them know it had not been fixed and they needed to send someone back out or refund me, and that's why it was unplugged because it was tripping the circuit. They sent the same plumber back out who told me the pump wasn't working and I needed a new pump for ******* dollars but he would take off the 203 I already paid and another 100 for the inconvenience which i declined. I then called Roto rooter again and was told I should have only been charged ***** for them coming for the estimate since no work was done but the home office would have to call me because their office could not give the refund only the home office. I have yet to hear from them about my refund

      On January 31st, I called Roto-Rooter at noon. The technician, ***, didn't show up until 5:45p.m. to unclog the drain leading from my bathroom toilet. From the moment he came in, he complained about me keeping him up as he stated, "Past his bedtime" and that, "He couldn't wait to get home to have his gummies". Not only was he very unprofessional in his demeanor, he made a mess in my home inside and out. He discarded his black gloves and blue booties he had on the wheels of his machine around the driveway. This isn't the worst of it. This was just the start of things to come.Did he unclog the drain? Yes, at a cost of $975. Original quote was for $950, but because he didn't know how to install the wax ring correctly, he charged me an additional $25 for six wax rings. Yes, you read that right. IN ADDITION, he didn't bolt down the toilet correctly, which led to severe water damage to my neighbor's condo below mine. As soon as the leak was discovered by my neighbor, I immediately called Precision Plumbing, who came out and fixed the leak and the improper installation of the toilet at a cost of $393.20. Precision Plumbing called in Chicago Water and Fire Restoration services to mitigate the water damage that was caused in my neighbor's downstairs bathroom to the tune of $725.00. *** will start the remodeling process this week to the neighbor's bathroom for $1930. The negligence that Roto-Rooter will cost me in the end is $3048, just to have a toilet unclogged.For 28 days of calling Roto-Rooter to get this hopefully resolved became nothing more than a "cat and mouse game". I spoke with a ****, a Patina, and a ****** all promising to have a General Manager get in touch with me. Nothing. I left a voicemail message for a ***** in customer **********************, who never returned my call. I emailed Mr. ******* at their corporate headquarters in ****. No response. FINALLY, a general manager named ****** got in touch with me 28 days later only to tell me, "Oh well, too bad so sad".

      I had a service done the service was not what they stated on either invoice the pricing was completely wrong and overpriced and the guy scratched it out on the written one and charged me a different price which was still a wrong price I was not going to argue with the person in my home I called the company. I was told that I would be getting refunded funds because I was completely overpriced and it was incorrect and wrong I do have all supporting documents all supporting information for this situation.

      On Sunday December 30th 2023, I called Roto-rooter to address the sewage issue that was backing up into my basement. **** came out, quoted me at 850 dollars (discounted 196) spent an hour or two and got the sewer line rodded out. After the initial work was completed he told me that someone else would be coming out to run a camera down the line to inspect for any damages or breeched lines. A week goes by, and I've heard nothing so I called and inquired at which point the company told me that the camera is a "complimentary" service they provide so I said id like to have it done. A week or two more goes by and I've heard nothing so I called again to be told that someone would be contacting me which they did not. I called a third time and they told me that theres a ticket made supposedly but still no one has bothered to contact me. I'm not a plumber but i am in a trade and I contacted a reputable plumber only to find out that a typically rodding job should cost no more than ***** dollars and the idea that running a camera is considered "complimentary" is a complete lie so that tells me that these people are taking advantage of the common folk severely. So the job still remains half complete, I've paid close to 1000 dollars and to add insult to injury they lie about the services rendered and or not rendered. I'll be the first to admit too that given the work took place on the weekend, well into the evening and it was an emergency situation it might have costed a little bit more but there is no excuse for charging almost a thousand dollars for a job that's half done. I had to have the job financed via synchrony bank and I've called them and put a partial stop-payment on the account because I should be responsible for no more than 450 (even that's being generous), but mainly these people are totally taking advantage of the common folk whom probably don't know any better.

      On July ******* , I called Roto Rooter to schedule an appointment for clogged downspout. The appointment was set for July 13, 2023 between 8 and 9 AM. They arrived at 10:30 AM. When I described the problem I was told the cost would be $950.00. When I appeared shocked they stated they would do it for$700.00 plus tax. I am 81 years old and being uncertain just what the problem was, I reluctantly agreed. At that point they snaked a high pressure water hose into drain. It did not work. At this point they snaked a camera in from the drainage sewer. I was told that the drainage pipe leading from the receptacle along side my house to the sewer had collapsed. At this point they gave me their report and left. Total time spent at my house was 1/2 hour. Yet really know how to take advantage of a senior who needed assistance. I have called their offfice on two occasions but could only reach their call center. They said they would have someone call us which has not as yet happened.

      On May 3, 2023 sewage was coming up on a cement area deck. Company was visiting , we could not use the toilet. I called Roto-Rooter . A technician came out I showed him where the pipes from my house attach to the sewer line for the city. He dug a hole (less then 2 feet in soft sand) and found the connection for the pipe to the city sewer had come partially loose. He ran a camera and said there was a blockage. I was verbally quoted a price of $675.00 to secure the fitting and remove the blockage. Then a 'manager' showed up. The first technician went into my bathroom. The manager showed me on a camera a second blockage. I was told it would add another $1000.00 to clear out. Meanwhile the technician in the bathroom told me I needed a new bathroom sink faucet . He was in the bathroom for about an hour. When he came out he said that he had installed the faucet. That he removed the flexible shower head due to it being clogged, and he cleaned a filter on the rigid shower head. For this amount of indoor work I was charged $970.00 on the spot. Which I paid. (invoice # ************. ) The faucet was itemized at $395.00. The manager came inside and told me yet another blockage was found. That he would run my credit so I could finance the growing bill now estimated to be $5000.00. When he ran my credit I was approved for $6,200.00 with Synchrony finance . The manager came back to tell me the bill was at $6,200.00 the full amount I had been approved for! I am ******************************************** It was too late to call for any other estimates and I felt under severe stress. So I allowed them to continue. The manager left and a third employee showed up. He was at my house for another 2 hours to 'unclog' the 3 alleged blockages. This invoice #************ for $6,200.00. I have since researched emergency plumbing costs . I was overcharged for both invoices. I believe they are in business with Synchrony finance and took advantage of me. I would like $3585.00 refunded.
