The date that the damage to my car occurred at 2:30pm at ******* gas station at *** ******* **** ** ******* *** My roadside assistance placed a call/ roadside service order to tatman's towing in Urbana IL. The driver/ locksmith used a tool to try to unlock my car and retrieve my car keys that I locked in my car at 1:12 pm. When the driver unlocked my car he turned on the car with my key and rolled down my driver's side window and proceeded to motion for me to come out of ******* to get my keys and proceed to hand him my driver's license and membership card for verification for AAA roadside assistance. Before I went to proceed to roll-up my window I saw that my switch for the window was broken and asked him why it was broken when it was intact before he rolled it down? He said and denied that he broke it. He said that it was already broken when he opened and rolled down the window. And I said no it wasn't. I called the business demanding an explanation and compensation for the damage that was caused to my vehicle. First they said they would repair the damage but when I drove the car there the owner said he didn't believe my statement and said that they were not going to take responsibility for the damages. ******* gas station had a witness and I have a statement provided that they saw him cause the damages. I'm asking the better business bureau to help me to get tatman's towing to reimburse me for the damage their driver caused to my vehicle. I also have a police report for the incident.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/29/2022

** ****** reported a damage complaint and we asked her to bring the vehicle by the shop so we could look at it. I then reached out to the operator to find out what took place. The lock out tool he used would not reach the area ** ****** claims to be damaged, nor is it rigged enough to cause the damage. Upon talking to ** ****** when she brought the car to our shop she claims the window button was broke off. When the keys were Locked in the vehicle the windows were rolled up. She rolled the driver window down ( by her admission) to talk with the operator. She would not be able to roll the window down if the operator would have broken the button off as she claims. As further inspection of ** ******s vehicle there were other window buttons broke off on both the passenger and drivers doors. When I asked ** ****** about those buttons she said those had broken off as the vehicle was aging. ** ****** stated that she had a witness from the cashier of ******* *** ******* stating that they witnessed this happen from the window where they were working. I am very familiar with the lay out of the station. There is no way that anyone would have been able to see the area of where the button is located on the car were ** ****** claims damage down in her vehicle from that vantage point. ** ****** also claims there is video from the security cameras. I also asked for a copy of that video, and she has yet to produce that.

What ** ****** is claiming is not possible by the evidence she has presented, The discussion I had with her, and by the discussion I have had with my operator.
