Details of the project (contract signed on or near September 23, 2023)- power wash 2 outdoor decks, railings, and staircase - repair or replace any rotted boards - paint railings white and decks in semi-transparent outdoor deck finish - add two custom corner posts to upstairs balcony to bring to code - move grill and deck furniture back into position at the completion of the project.******, owner of the business, completed part of, but not all of, the project detailed above.Remaining unfinished work, as of of 11/18/2023 (with promises to finish, and then zero contact after July 2024)- Touch up white paint on railings, stairs - Repair or replace upstairs screen (torn during the project)- 2 custom posts have not been added to upper balcony ($500 paid for this)- Ruined driveway finish with leaking oil and brake fluid from RDJ contractor cars. Promised to refinish, now an estimated $200 cost to me.- 1 more coat of stain on both decks and stair case The project contract was $5800. Contractor demanded final payment without completing the work above. The contractor did not contact me until 1/8/2024; he promised to finish the work above. The contractor did not respond again until 4/29/2024. Between this time and 7/10/2024, the contractor kept promising to set up time to the work, and then gave excuse after excuse as to why he couldn't or wouldn't. The above work remains unfinished. I believe that I am entitled to the following: - $500 uncompleted carpentry - $700 uncompleted final coat of stain - $500 uncompleted touch up on 2 balconies and stair railings - $200 ruined driveway finish, now at my cost to ************: $1900 These are at least the costs I will incur to work with someone new to finish this project. I do not wish to have any further contact with this so-called contractor. I have never experienced poorer communication or follow through from an established business and contractor.Thank you.
