I feel my car was towed on 10/16 from an unmarked lot (I have photos) behind The ********** restaurant in ************. I was later told the adjacent vacant Libertyville theater owner, whose lot is marked with No Parking Tow info, has contracted with the tow company from ******** to patrol & remove cars. BUT MY CAR WAS NOT IN THE MARKED LOT. I have since heard this is a recurring problem for the ********************** I had to pay exact cash $360 No credit cards, no change on site to get my car back from a remote & scary lot in ********. The theater lot sign says credit cards accepted & tows start at $250. Again, I was able to drive behind the theater lot & up to the back of the restaurant. (I have photos to show my path that night & the next day.) At least 4 people complained of being towed over the last year. Appears to need signs behind the 2 restaurants, to have charges regulated & credit cards accepted according to theater signs. Rotten practices to village businesses & local patrons!

My vehicle was towed on 1/30/2024. I spoke with someone over the phone and was told that to release my car, I would be charged $215 for the actual tow. Plus $20 for fuel charge. So my total would be $235. I asked for the man's name who quoted me and he refused to state who he was. I also asked which type of payments they take. Which; I was told cash and card. I went the next day around 3:30 PM to pay and pick up my vehicle. The man left and came back a few minutes after 4 pm which is when they closed. He stated since it was after 4 pm (which was not my fault since he left for whatever personal reasons) he would be charging me an additional $50 for it being "after hours" and another additional "gas fee" of $20. So now, my total came out to $305. And cash was the only payment he could accept since the card reader was down. Even though when I spoke to the man over the phone the day before, they clearly stated they do take cards. Never once did he mention the reader was down. The final invoice given to me did not have these additional fees. This seemed very sketchy since this is a professional business and made me feel like the person just wanted to keep charging me and pocket the cash since conveniently, the card reader was not working, and it would be untraceable.
