    We had Merchant Traders do our estate sales and were terribly disappointed. Many items were discounted at the beginning of a 4 day sale at 80% of the retail price. The company did not take a fiduciary position for the owners. They staged items that did not make any sense. Things that could have been sold together were broken up and sold separately. Other items that could have been sold separately were being sold as a set at a high price and ultimately did not sell. Other items were not priced before the sale began or when the owners were not present to discuss the price with Merchant Traders. In the end Merchant Traders only thought of themselves and did work for the owners.

    As a buyer at one of their estate sales I found the lady to be very unprofessional, and not knowledgeable of what she was selling, When I asked what she was charging me for she became defensive. She stated that there were signs everywhere however, there were no signs in the basement area. Being there on the last of a 4 day sale rather than making deals to get rid of the remaining at what they stated was 75% off she was charging 50 on most. The line was long due to her incompetence. The other lady was taking those with excessive amounts of craft items because she was so slow. I understand theyre there for the seller, however, at that point they wouldve sold a lot more had they made deals. I will probably never go to another one of their estate sales, no matter what they have.
