    Business took a deposit for a soccer tournament but did not specify price change so I decided to cancel and called to get a refund but they are refusing to refund me. **** the manager admitted that it did not mention the price change but says their website says deposits are nonrefundable. I been going to this establishment for 10+ years. It is my understanding that it is against the law to charge money without providing a service. I request my $100 deposit along with the $800 I payed .which is total $900 be returned. I have children to feed and mortgage to pay. Times are hard and I work hard for my money. Thank you

    To whom it may concern,

    ********************************* registered an Adult Soccer team using our online registration system on 8/20. Our website states that the amount of the league is $995 and that a $100 non-refundable deposit is needed to hold a spot (attachment included).When registering online, the client has the option to choose the amount to charge ($100 minimum required up to $995. The auto authorized amount is $100 (attachment included)). The client input the amount $795 and completed the registration. On 8/23 at 2:18pm the client called Westmont Yard and spoke to *********************. He questioned the amount of the league and that is when **** explained to him that the cost is $995 but if paid in full before the start of the season they receive a discount and pay $895. At that time, the client paid the $100 balance (attachment included). At roughly 4:00pm the client called Westmont Yard to inform our Front Desk Manager, ******, that he would not have enough players to field a team for the season and has to pull his team out. He asked about a refund and ****** informed him that he could not guarantee all of it but that he would receive everything but the deposit. At that time, ****** texted the Adult Leagues Manager, ****, (attachment included) to let him know that RiversideFC would need to pull from the league due to not having enough players. The league was set to start in less than 4 hours - RiversideFC was set to play at 8pm. At this time, ****** and **** had to scramble to find an alternate solution for their opponent along with redo the full season schedule. 

    After reviewing *********'s account he has been registering teams in the adult league since 2016 (8 season not counting this one) and he has always paid $895. He paid $745 last session because we were offering a summer discount, which we do every summer. He has not registered for any summer sessions in the past (attachment of his account from 2016 - now included) so he might have thought we dropped prices but in fact this is just a summer discount we always offer.

    Based on the above information, all but the non-refundable $100 deposit has been refunded to ********* as that is our standard policy. The sole purpose of the deposit is to solidify a teams commitment to the league before putting out the schedule, assigning officials, and starting the league.     I am rejecting this response because:

    I was not informed by the facility they would keep my deposit. They also did not provide a service for my deposit. They have in the past cancelled many games and do not reimburse me or my players for it. We drive to them from far and we understand people cancel. So they have no tolerance for others pulling out. I was not given a service it is unlawful to charge without a service provided. The manager attempted to find a replacement for my team because they admitted the prices changed but misinformed me. I want my full refund back including my deposit.
