On March 24, 2023 I received an estimate from this Midas location for what it would cost to replace the front shock absorbers on my ****** Corolla. I was told, in writing, that the price of the parts would be $399.98. The work was performed on the vehicle on March 27, 2023. When I went to pick up my vehicle, suddenly the price for the same parts was a whopping $799.96. I never agreed to that amount and, in fact, those parts can be purchased directly from ****** for only about $300. I never would have signed off on the original estimate to have the work done if they had been honest about the exorbitant price. I contacted Midas headquarters about this gross overcharge and they ignored my complaint. I am seeking a refund of the $400 that was obtained through their fraudulent business practices.

We have contacted ****************** and concluded that a refund in the amount of $400.00 is the correct resolution for the miss-communication of parts and labor totals. We are looking forward to servicing ********************** future automotive needs, Thank you!

This complaint is regarding the service provided by Midas ******************** at ********************************************************************* on June 21, 2022. ***********man assured me that they would call me before doing a service to let me know, but the didn't. ***********man refused to provide a price quote for a routine service ('Service A' in the manufacturer's term) prior to the service. Their charge was excessive compared to what the competitor charged. I seek a partial refund of $450.70.On June 21, 2022, the day of service, I was getting an onboard alert about Service A being due from my vehicle ************* GLK 350. I called Midas ************ and tried to get a price quote on Service A. *********** person *************************** at Midas told me over the phone that they would run a complimentary check and then tell me what needs to be done. I dropped the car at 2 pm and told him to perform a wheel alignment as well, which was also due. They never called me back, and when I called them around 5:30 pm, they said the service was already done and my car was ready for pickup. At the desk, they told me that the total charge was $921.23, which I paid. Back home, I found a record of ************* performing the same service one year prior (Apr 6, 2021), and that the charge was $252.29. The dealer shop confirms that their charge has not been raised since last year. The charge made by Midas for the same service is $756.15 (which is $921.23 minus the wheel alignment charge $169.99.) The amount of the overcharge made by Midas is $503.83 ($756.15 - $252.29.) I have requested for a refund of $450.70 (which is the overcharge minus the 15% discount applied through ****** membership referral program.) I have not heard back from Midas again. I have attempted to refute the charge through AmericanExpress unsuccessfully.
