I hired a move with Budget *** Lines from ********** **** to ******* ******. They contracted it out to N&V Trucking. The trucking company picked up my belongings on 7/20/22 and took to a storage facility. When I became established I requested delivery and it was delivered to my new residence on the 15th of September. I paid a total of $8903.64 for this move. When it arrived it was apparent that the condition of my belongings was not good. The condition of our furniture was heavily damaged. We had smashed boxes, a broken chair back, trim piece on tv stand busted, wooden wheels on antique buffet all missing, What wasn't broken was bent up and made wobbly. There were several boxes with busted glasses, broken vases, and even a hole burnt in a mattress! I had to purchase a new mattress at a cost of $649.99. On top of that I am missing a 230 piece tool set that was in my tool chest. Also delivered to my house was a tv set that is not mine. I have informed the company but it still sits here. They want to reimburse at the rate of $0.10 per pound. I think due to the nature of the condition of the mattress and the loss of the tool kit I should be fully compensated. I want them to arrange for pick up for this tv too.

This moving company has an unconscionable contract. They are a moving company that I paid 5K to pack and move my residence. They coerce you into signing an unconscionable loss/damaged "insurance" contract which leaves them virtually monetarily not responsible for anything they break, steal or lose. They will only pay you .60 per pound of whatever they break no matter how much it costs or what the replacement value is. This company took 9 hours to "pack, wrap and secure" my belongings to which I would have no idea that all the packing materials and the 9 hours it took that i should reasonably expect any damage to my belongings. They actually broke and didn't even barely pack an 85" ****************** that was 3K, lost some of my items, broke other items and gave me someone else's belongings on top of it. They said that I signed a contract that only makes them pay .60/pound. That means they would only roughly reimburse me let's say ***** dollars for my 3K television they broke. again, they coerce you into thinking you don't need insurance because they pack so diligently and at the end of the day do not have to bare any responsibility. This is unconscionable by law.
