For years I paid a subscription to Memorable for their service (digitally organizing and storing photos). They held my photos and videos in their cloud - both older media that I paid them to digitize and newer media that would automatically upload directly from my phone. When I signed up for the service I asked explicitly what would happen if they ever went out of business, and they reassured me that they would not - but if they did, they would let me know so that I could retrieve my precious memories. As of a few months ago I tried to log on and found that the company had gone out of business. I never received any warning of this. I searched my email to see if there was an email that I missed, but I found nothing. I just want my photos and videos back!!

I used the services at Memorable to have VHS tapes transferred to a digital format. I paid a lot of money to have this done. It was three years ago to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. Recently I have received emails from owner *************************** informing me he is closing his business. He informed me in order to continue to access my photos/videos I have to pay him $200. I paid a significant amount of money when the work was done. Now suddenly he is holding my media hostage, I cannot access the material or download it to external drive. I access it on my own computer but when I spoke with him he said it is in "their cloud" and technically they own it. How is this possible? I own the material and why should I upgrade to a new plan to see them. He is "whining" about how bad the business is doing, going out of business, soliciting donations to try and keep it open. My account has now been suspended. I cannot understand how "they own" my material. This was not the arrangement that I agreed to. Please help me get my pictures in a format that I can download to my own computer.. I can't get them back and i am so disappointed to lose all these memories of my daughter's various wonderful memories. Is this possibly some sort of scam? Thank you for your help.I am uploading samples of emails I have received. You can see how he displays himself in a pathetic manner which makes me feel this is more of a scam. When I spoke with him on the phone he told me it would cost $200 to upgrade. He has not put that in writing.***** *****

From July 2016 through August 2019 I paid Memorable $1247.50 to covert/download VHS tapes and ******************************************** the Memorable "Cloud." The above payment included a yearly subscription fee, that I was told only needed to be paid for the years I would want anything converted to *********** specifically asked that once I was done digitalizing would I still have access to what was previously in their cloud, and was told that this was my property and would always have access. The only change would be that I could not digitize anything else, nor would any of my phone streamed photos automatically go to their cloud. That was fine with me, so I ended my subscription, but still had access to my photos via their "cloud."In the last month or so, I have been getting emails from ****************** (owner of Memorable) that he was having personal problems, bills to pay and the best way to save his company was to subscribe or order to digitize. Then the emails stated that if I do not upgrade my account (which I have no need or intention of doing) that I will lose all my pictures and videos. And only when I pay him the new fee, would I be able to download and have access to my things. This seems like extortion to me. I was told one thing and now am being threatened with another.
