I hired an expensive epoxy garage floor restoring company who offered very specifics including an aftercare package and certain hours of man labor verbally. I paid them half an advance and half when they came to do the work. There was about half the manpower and even fewer hours. I very carefully showed them a spot in our garage on either side. Two places actually of the door going in that had to be done carefully and asked what my options were. They made an incredible mess and I have numerous pictures of that important area that we have to look at everyday. It's shocking and unbelievable. Afterward, we called many comparable agencies and they said it was incredibly poor workmanship even if the rest of the garage door looked good. Shockingly, they evidently used a machine to broadcast the flake material onto the floor and left us an incredible mess ingrained in every corner of our belongings. This was all avoidable. All other companies after their fact and for me that that is not done. Unless there's an empty warehouse. We would have very easily covered the possessions that they destroyed. It is one month and a few days later and our hair and contact lenses and glasses and sunglasses, shoes and boots. Had to put back into the garage that were covered on the driveway where they took a high pressure leaf blower and blue things right up to our possessions right on top of them and in them, it all could have been easily avoided. We quietly sent him screenshots when we discovered what he had done to us with a note that said, we've been sweeping vacuuming blowing. Is there a trick to getting this stuff out. He called and viciously attacked me and said we were exaggerating and that nothing was wrong and we should just live with it. The flakes will be with us forever. No matter what we do. They are tracked into our home and our vehicles and we find many more out of nowhere. Every single day settled on the interior of our garage and in our house. It is endless-he won't help

    Business Response

On or about August 16, 2021, I provided an estimate/proposal for work to be done at the complaints residence. The work we do involves grinding of concrete and application of professional grade polymers (epoxy). I did not hear from the complainant until June of 2022, asking if I could still do the work but at a reduced price even though I, along with every other business, experienced significant cost increases due to supply chain issues. In efforts to help the complaint, and the thought that a smaller percentage of something is better than 100% of nothing, I reduced the original 2021 price to get the job.

We commenced the job on or about August 1 of 2022 and while the complainant claims that there was less manpower there during the first day of work, that fact is irrelevant because we regularly complete larger jobs than hers with single man operations. The second day we showed up and completed the final portion. Our process, along with many other companies performing similar work, is to vacuum excess flake that is broadcast on the floor, then use a leaf blower to blow it to the exterior. At that point we vacuum up the flake on the driveway and then once again, use a leaf blower to blow away any remaining flake. The process is never 100% especially when a brick paver driveway, as the complainant has, is present. Any remaining flake generally erodes away from natural causes such as rain and wind. Being biodegradable, it does not hurt the environment.

A few days after completing the job, the complainant texted me multiple long texts about excess flake and poor workmanship surrounding some shelving that was built in such a way that coating around the support legs without getting epoxy on them was all but impossible. We explained this process prior to starting and addressed how we would coat those areas. The complainant understood and verbally agreed that was acceptable.

Our company is in the top 2% of ALL companies listed with home advisor/**** leads NATIONWIDE as a result of our communication, workmanship, punctuality, cleanliness, and quality. We have 126 reviews with Home Advisor and 124 are 5 star with only 2 being 4 star and ZERO 3, 2, or 1 star ratings.

Furthermore, the complainant asked in writing that I NEVER contact her again. I have obliged that request.

Since the complainant believes this to be an issue beyond their own capability to rectify, I will agree to send out the professional painting subcontractor I regularly use on other painting jobs to sand the shelf legs and baseboard trim and then paint them a color that blends in with the complainants existing trim paint. Furthermore, I will agree to refund the complainant a sum of $200 as a means of reimbursement for the obvious pain and suffering they have endured. If acceptable, the complainant must sign a release towards any further liability on the part of PoxyPros, Inc.
