      I was charged 750 without my knowledge for tax preparation from Jackson Hewit. It was never explained to me that I would have to pay that much in the 2 times I was there. I never signed anything I also have no paperwork of proof because it was never printed out for me and I was not able to get on the account which I also told them. I even flat out got told that there was no refund because it was a binding contract. So I have been scammed our of 750 by this company and I hope no one ever uses them.

      I am sorry that the client feels negatively towards Jackson Hewitt. I tried calling the client with no success and left VM explaining I would like to speak with them concerning the situation and see what I could do to resolve the issue. I was able to reach the client via email and requested time to talk to them about the complaint and what I could do to resolve. They stated that since there was no recording of the incident, they didn't feel I would be able to do anything. I would like to meet with the client or have a phone call to help resolve the issue. I am asking that they give me a chance to help if possible. Thank you for the time to respond.

      I went to this establishment on 1/22/24 and filed my individual tax return, was charged nearly $700 in fees and was given a $500 refund advance. Was told by the tax preparer that my fees would come out of my federal refund. State taxes got processed and it never got deposited come to find out these people took my money and applied it to whatever they wanted to without my consent. I was told there was nothing they could do and all the manager could say is that this was explained to me. I advises that it was not explained and she basically called me a liar. I will never do business with this place ever again. They over charge their customers and they are also rude. I shouldve went to who I filed with last year. Never again!! 0/10

      I am sorry for the negative experience *********************************** experienced. I have spoke with her and discussed her experience overall. I apologized for the lack of communication from our tax professional as it relates to how fees are processed. It was something that is normally discussed, but it is possible that is was missed when completing her tax return. I believe that ****************** and I have come to an agreement and I offered our tax service to her in March. I explained how important her business means to Jackson Hewitt and how valued she is as a client with my office. I will address the issues and concerns on how her experience was when calling for a resolution to our office. My hope is that she gives our company the chance to help her in the future for all of her tax needs. Thank you for the opportunity to respond and the ability to work with Alexandria again.

      My wife and I took our pay stubs in to start our filing process and apply for early refund advance like we do every December. The tax preparer was taking personal calls on his cell phone and ******* ** through. When it came time for the bank information, he did not offer us a new card like they normally do but instead asked us to use our old card. I gave him the account number and routing number but he wouldn't accept it. Instead he stated that we needed last years card. I told him that I wasn't sure if the card I had was the correct card but he insisted that it didn't matter. It mattered. We were denied because the card that he insisted on was attached to a previous address. We called the office and they refused to change it to the correct information and said it was completely ethical to take personal calls. It is unethical and immoral to submit incorrect information and refuse to correct it.

      Received Second Notice of a complaint (see attached). Below is Jackson Hewitt's response.

      1. Client came into Jackson Hewitt on 12/13/2022, return (receipts # *****), we applied for 

      the advance per client request. Client indicated that he had a personalized American Express

      card, which is what we used. There was no discussion if the card was not a currently used card.

      2. The loan was denied, the client specified it was because of the card we used.

      3. The client returned  the next day very upset.

      4. Return # ***** was voided.

      5. We redid the return (receipt #*****) on 12/14/2022, applied for the advance again per client's

      request.

      6. Denied again, the bank does not tell us the reasons. 

      7. The previous two (2) return submittals where to apply for the advance. 

       

      The only option left is to complete the final tax return with w-2's and submit, Jackson Hewitt has done 

      everything it can to satisfy the client. We would be more than happy to complete the return.
